Story Npower Test Series (Wisden Trophy)

A series of 4 test matches to be contested between the West Indies and England in England, for the coveted Wisden Trophy.

Fixtures:

1st test- Eng v Win @ Birminham Edgbaston

2nd test- Eng v Win @ London Lords

3rd test- Eng v Win @ Chesterlee Street

4th test- Eng v Win @ Headingley Leeds

I will be using tutsi's 6.0 for the first 2/1/2 days, use ravi's test version for the rest of the days up to lunch on the 4th day and then back to tutsi's for the remainder.

The 1st Npower Day 1 Test Conditions

Weather: Overcast

Pitch: Green

Temp: Cold

Ian: " Welcome to this first npower test match between the west indies and england played for the wisden trophy. Bish is having a pitch analysis of the first day..."

Bish: " Well this pitch will be ideally suited for the seam bowlers. It's green and with some rain in the air it will really do alot off the seam. The batsmen will have to be circumspect in the way they play."

Bish: " Lara has won the toss and surprisingly has chosen to bat, he may be justified as this pitch will wear over the 4th and 5th day, making batting difficult for the team batting second. But that will all depend how the west indies will fare against Harmison, Hoggard and Flintoff."

Ian: " Right, the west indies have chosen to include 7 specialist batsmen at the expense of a specialist bowler, so they will be relying on the left arm of ryan hinds as a backup. England have gone for a more balanced approach with 6 specialist batters and 4 specialist bowlers, so I will more fancy England's chances..."

Mikey: " Well its lunch here on the first day and the west indies are 82/1 after 28 overs. They're at a steady 2.96 rpo and Chanderpaul and Gayle have batted really well here, after a golden duck by Sylvester Joseph. England's bowlers have bowled pretty well here, but edges have gone wide of the fielders, and it has been no luck for Vaughn's men. It was a good idea to bring in Giles just for a change, but with no success. England though should continue to bowl good length and line, and eventually the wickets will come. These 2 batsmen have to continue on into this next session."

Ian: " Yes Mikey, Gayle and Chanders look really set now. The moisture is slowly being removed here, and soon enough we can most likely see a total of maybe over 400, depending on how well they bat. England need to keep up the pressure."
