Shane Warne might have turned the match back in their favor from a losing position and Wasim Akram might have finished the job, but none of it would have been possible without Brian Lara's superb 111 off 120 balls in a match where only two batsmen including Lara himself could cross 50. He was quite deservedly awarded Player of the Match.
El Loco's XI, who finished second despite looking invincible all tournament found some solace in Javed Miandad being declared Player of the Tournament for his outstanding return of 410 runs at an average of 82.00 (1 100/3 50s) from 6 matches at a strike rate of more than 94 runs per 100 balls.

Extremely disappointed to fall short at the final hurdle after bossing the whole competition up till this point. Congratulations to PS and also to Rebel for creating such an enjoyable thread which has culminated in this great tournament.

What a thriller Final match that was. At one point I thought we've lost it but the way Warne and Wasim made the comeback. Absolutely showed why they are arguably the best fast bowler and spin bowler of the game. The Pitch did had something in it for the bowlers. So pat on the back to Lara for his brilliant 100.
Heck Wasim and Warne are the highest wicket takers in this tournament with 17 and 13 respectively.
I absolutely enjoyed this tournament from start to finish. Thanks to everyone who participated and organizers for bringing and playing this kind of format.
P.S: I was always aiming for the perfect bowling line-up.
