Online Worldcup Tournament - Can You Win It For Your Country?

Guys,

I am pleased to announce that BLC / Cricket 2002 Online is thinking about hosting a online WorldCup tournament using Cricket 2002. The tournament is based on play by email format where you complete your inning and email saved game to your opponent who then chases the set target.

I would like those who are interested to post your entries here by 21st Jan. After that I will announce final lineups. You will also receive complete schedule of the tournament, rules and other details.

We will try to allocate everyone their preferred team. Since there is a chance of more than 1 members wanting to play with same team, you will team up together in the tournament. Teaming up can be fun too as you and your teammates can decide to take turns in your innings and you may get to play during different situations of a match - imagine starting at 170/6 and chasing 250 to get your team in finals!.
If you are the only person managing a team then ofcourse you'll be playing the whole innings by yourself. In case you don't want to team up, we will try to allocate you some other 'free' team.

sorry brother but i don`t think so that would be cool because most people might cheat and it won`t be interresting because i think when there will be online feature in cricket 2004 then it would be cool that we make tournaments and more but sending save games that might not be fun sorry brother to say no but i think there are some people who will cheat and who might not be able to send the save game on time and many other problems.....

Hi Gameplay,

You have a valid point about cheating but main reason behind having such tournament is to have fun and try to experience different matches, situations and results v. human opponents! Obviously in order to make it work we have to trust each other and be honest!
Also C2004 is more than a year away and who knows if that's going to have 'real' multiplayer in it? (EA have lot to work on single player first and since WC 2003 is just around the corner I thought it'd be a good idea to have a similar online tournament..

some more information for you guys:

1. All matches will be played on HARD level.
2. You will have atleast 2 days to finish your innings (initial matches will be 20 ov. each.)
3. You will receive complete tournament schedule, rules etc. after entries are closed.
4. We will announce pitch type and result of toss just before the match..team winning the toss will decide if they want to bat/field first.
