Breaking News!

Breaking News

A near tragedy today after a PC Airlines light aircraft was shot down by militants on its maiden flight in Peshawar. The airline is planning to set up a regional network of short flights in the troubled NWFP region and tragedy could not have come sooner.

The flight report by the Pakistani military has been released and the pilot has been named as Bilal Shuja, a student pilot on his maiden flight.

According to reports, militants hiding at the end of the runway fired at the Cessna 172s with small arms, disabling its single engine. The pilot declared an emergency and tried to restart the engine. After failing to restart the engine and flying very low, Bilal Shuja made the critical decision to land in the city and did so without and injury to him or his CFI. The only fault being in the panic of landing, the pilot did not set the flaps properly for landing. He came dangerously close to stalling the aircraft and was lucky to have a strong headwind.

Damage to the aircraft was minimal as only the engine was hit. The fuselage remained unscathed and the repair costs are around $26,000.

PC Airways has decided to pay for the repairs themselves as using insurance would only cover $15,000 and raise the rate by .50%.

Note about the game:

In the addon FSPassengers, Pakistan is considered a "Dangerous Flight Area." In the city of Peshawar the danger level was 48% chance of being attacked under 10,000 feet.

Here is a list of all the areas that are best to avoid. No pilot will be asked to fly there, but volunteers are always welcome. If you survive, you get lots of points and move up in rank quickly. There is a good chance of dying though.

Attention Pilots!

Bilal, do you want to try to fly in Peshawar again? or do you want to move somewhere else? I'll wait till you answer to fly your guy again.

News

-Jono Choie has been hired and admitted to PC Airways Flight school. Due to the over staffing of pilots in Oceania, Choie has been assigned to the main branch in Austin, Tx.

----------

Ok so its going to take forever if I just fly around with no passengers, you only get 34 points per flight and you need 300 to become a commercial pilot.

Bilal does not have this problem, his crazy encounter earned him well past 500.

So Covvy and Hayden are both going to experience a mechanical failure on their next flight. The failure will be random so i won't know what it is until it happens. The flight will be a short hop (<30 miles) and I'll record both of them.

The outcome will either be

a) successful handling of emergency and promotion to commercial pilot

b) death and game over (or serious injury and long heal time)

---------------------------------------

Covvy and Hayden have the required 5 hours of fly time needed to get to commercial, Bilal only has 2 minutes of flight time :lol.

Covvys Emergency

Covvy lucked out, there was a small fuel leak and nothing unusual. Got him enough points to get promoted though.

Haha it's the only way to advance quickly at the start, plus testing them out in emergencies is probably good before they fly with passengers. Also if one of them gets killed or injured, hiring starts again :0

Great story Mark and a brilliant and original idea. I look forward to seeing this one development. I love FSPassengers. It gives "flying" a real goal!
