PC vs Mac

My Macbook Pro is brilliant for music recording and editing! All the guys I know who are in the music or film industry all Macs. Know a couple of guys from Weta Studios who do the audio and special effects for the big, big films (Avatar being the latest) all use Macs.

Since I have no use for video editing I'll stick with my PC thanks. Its a bitch trying to find apple versions of popular software.

All I need to do is figure out how to work WMP streams on the mac and i'll be elated. Really loving the thing, apart from the streaming I'm not missing my windows PC in the slightest.

Tried out iMovie and man, it is so easy. Made an amazing video! :p

The Y looks like a good model. Specs?
13.3" widescreen, 3.9 lbs
Windows 7 Pro x64
4GB DDR3 RAM
500GB 5400RPM HDD
Battery life up to 8 hours
On-board graphics (Intel GMA upto 1759MB), max res. 1366x768, 1080 HDMI
Core 2 Duo SU7300 1.30 GHz

Basically a light "travel" machine.

Umm no it isn't. I have a mac equivalent of everything I had on my PC. So really that is a pretty dumb statement.

It isn't a dumb statement because you are assuming that you and him use the same subset of software. If he even has one piece of software that he cannot find for the Mac, his statement is proven as true, whereas there is no way you can prove that analogous software exists on the Mac for every piece of PC software.

There are programs that get windows programs working on the Mac. I'm currently running IE 6 on my Mac, for sopcast/streaming purposes.

Works well enough for my needs :p. It is a bit of a throwback though, to the windows 98 days (got the little spinning globe in the corner and everything :p)
