I was going to post this long post explaining why you could but it would be a really bad idea, but I'll simplify it.

If you cancel your Ferrari customer engine, you'll get back 1,200,000 of the 1,500,000 that you spent. There are only a few engines still available:
  • Ford could supply your team with engines; this would cost you 1,000,000
  • Mercedes could supply another team; this would cost you 4,000,000
  • Peugeot could supply your team; this would cost you 1,000,000
The other four suppliers (BMW, Ferrari works, Honda and Supertec) are all maxed out already.
I'd like to purchase a Mercedes engine.

That'd be a huge risk, plunging you into a couple million of debt when you already have a potentially race-winning car.

Now I think about it, I'd also have to go away and check the real-life rules as I can't remember any team since Life switching engines mid-season

Please have a look if we can upgrade our chassis. :)

As soon as Alonso is available to drive, replace Wurz with Alonso. :)

Unlucky to have Sato retire, and we just missed out on the points with Coulthard finishing 7th.

Yeah, I think that's best; there's no modern precedent for switching engines mid season.

You made your chassis development investment at the start of the season, so you'll have to stand by it for now. Might be better to hold off on that development until all the other teams are broke anyway

I'm happy with that result as that equals our best ranking for this season compared to OTL. Now time to improve on that.

Michael was definitely the best racer of the era with little contest around but I thought Rubens should have done better than that. He could have finished the race at the very least with the car we have got.

Unchanged, hoping our cars do not fail us now nor do our drivers either.
