All Round Class Gives PlanetCricket A Comfortable Win
Match Summary
The PlanetCricket County has picked up a comfortable 112 run win, to consolidate their position atop of their group in the Challenge Trophy.
With the loss of P. Raj early, A. Cricketer and A. Shreyas combined for an 139 run second wicket partnership. This set up the innings, giving PlanetCricket an opportunity to up the run rate late in their innings. O. Holden and T. Lerana did this very well both striking at more than a run a ball, moving the PlanetCricket total up to an opposing 259 for 5. Easily the pick of the Northamptonshire bowlers was J. Harris, bowling 10 over's and only conceding 21 runs.
The Northamptonshire innings never got going. They quickly fell behind the required run rate, meaning they had to attack the PlanetCricket bowling very early on. J. Lowe and B. Phillips added over 50 for the eighth wicket, taking the Northamptonshire total from 76 for 7 up to 147. The PlanetCricket County was always going to have enough runs on the board, and this showed with the last three wickets all falling in the same G. Aggarwal over.
Man of the Match was a much tougher decision this match than it had been in previous PlanetCricket encounters, with lot's of good performances combining together. In the end it was given to B. Gutteridge, for ripping out the Northamptonshire top and middle order.
My View
It was one of the best all round team efforts this season. We set up the match with the bat, consolidating a very good platform before pushing on in the last 10 over's. This is something we have struggled to do, in our previous games. Our bowlers were expensive, but knowing we had the runs on the board let us bowl a lot more aggressively. It was pleasing to see them bowl Northamptonshire out in such a short amount of time, taking only 31 over's to do so.

P. Raj and B. Hedger got rested from the line up due to some poor fitness. B. Blake came into the team to open the batting on the back of a 258 for the second team, and R. Ramesh came in for his first one day match of the season. In the other change D. Veza came in, in place of L. Dias after some great second team performances.
Match Summary
After winning the toss and batting, PlanetCricket were put under early pressure after the loss of three early wickets. O. Holden and R. Ramesh came together, and batted sensibly without risk's. They put on 178 for the forth wicket, making over 80% of the PlanetCricket County's runs. A few useful boundaries at the end, helped them up to a way under par 215.
Glamorgan came out, and after the loss of an early wicket looked to build partnerships. They were always struggling to keep up with the required run rate after some great opening bowling, requiring them to try and pick boundaries off the spinners. In the end the PlanetCricket County's bowlers were just way to good rolling Glamorgan for 160, still with more than eight over's up their sleeve.
O. Holden was awarded Man of the Match for his innings saving knock. He came to the wicket at 14 for 2, and departed for 93 when the score read 202.
My View
I am very relived, after such a terrible start to the match. It showed us, even without B. Hedger holding our middle order together, that we can score runs. Our bowling was as usual top notch.

Well normally I wouldn't like being injured but thanks for resting me from that CT match and I'll miss another CT match. Would have been 2 embarrasing performances.
