PlanetCricket Monthly Magazine !out now!

18 MB

I'm downloading it, will give you my views in a second. But like WHM said, I too have a ~750 page math book, a 500 page English book (that no one uses), a 500 page History book, (again, no one uses), and 800 page Physics/Bio/Chem book (we use this :)), and they're each only about 8MB.

Seen the first page and already a mistake. "IPL to start soon". What? It's already started!

You have to remember that most of the magazine was written at the beginning of the month. There are bound to be some mistakes with the first issue.

I've also noticed spelling mistakes. Make sure you proof read and get spell checker on everything! To hear something is heard. Then there is a herd of animals.

Well I cant wait to see my article. I hope its good, I dont think it was long enough but its a magazine so it shouldn't be too long.

I think we need more articles, but probably shorters ones, i think 4-5 pages is too long for a magazine. I liked the set out a lot, maybe some more pictures as well. I think we should try and fix the text.

All in all, a great article. Do need battrick league in their though, and an article next time about Harbajan Singhs shinanigans

I will download this first issue like I said, and see what I think of it.

Farking amazing cover I must admit, looks like it will be pretty good.

You should have 1 editorial and the rest should be small articles that fit on one side. Other than that, I'm quite impressed. I sincerely hope you keep this running!

Just to note, you spelt KBC's name wrong twice...it was 'KBChandra', Its meant to be KBChandraw....I don't think he'll be pleased about that...lol.

Great start for the magazine. All things good things start low so in few months this will be awesome. Hoping to keep on contributing in future as well.

Usy, I'm really surprised at the quality of the graphics. It is absolutely brilliant and I think you could probably land a real-world job if you were looking for one.

As for the writing, I have to say the grammar mistakes were a bit of a turn off. I can offer proofreading services if you wish to use them, since it seems like spellcheck just ain't cutting it.

oh well I didn't write anything on first place apart from the letter on first pages, and the starting tips.. but turst usy, i had no time to look at spelling and had to do it ASAP.

i tried my best to keep a balance between quality and size.

Well you need to embed the fonts with the PDF file for the size to be reasonable. If you have gone and made the whole of each page in Photoshop and then just used Acrobat to put them in a PDF you will never get the size down. You need to add text to the pages with the text tools in Acrobat (I haven't used acrobat in a long time so I can't give you detailed instructions), and you need to only use images when absolutely necessary.

It will most likely take longer to put together this way, but 18MB is way too high for a magazine that short (my maths textbook comes with a 7MB pdf file that contains the whole 500+ page book, small PDFs are possible when done right).

I have no idea how to use PDF's, just looked at a simple tut before starting the Magazine on how to make this work.

Every single person whose downloaded, THANK YOU! we need as much replies as possible.
