Club Statement​

Liverpool have confirmed that Jose Mourinho has replaced Rafael Benitez as the new manager at Anfield.

The Portuguese, who was the manager of rival club Chelsea will take charge of Liverpool at Anfield

"The club is delighted that in Jose we have an experienced man who can come in at a difficult time," said the club.

BBC Sport revealed the news on Thursday morning as Benitez said an emotional farewell to players at the club's training ground in Melwood, West Derby.

Mourinho's Arrival at the club...

Mourinho was followed by about 100 reporters and a dozen of TV teams accompanied him on his first day at work . The public interest is enormous.
