When do you think it's time?

He seems to be getting a little but slower, both in reactions and scoring, and I think it's time he retires to focus on Test cricket. If he retired now, he gives us time to work on a replacement before the 2011 World Cup.

However, the 2011 World Cup is something he will want to play, and probably should play in. Australia will look up to him, and when he's in form I'd like nothing more than to see him play.

Your thoughts?

Can't really say he should retire from ODIs as of yet cause he had a fantastic run in ODIs just recently and also he wouldn't wanna miss out on a hat-trick WC win as captain.

If this is about how he's played in the last two matches, it's a bit premature. Did you see his ODI form at the end of last year? He was absolutely murdering it.

Ponting's a player that's made for OD cricket, and he's a legend. He'll be back soon, and stun us all.

Far out, he has two scratchy innings and it's time to retire?

Little bit of Ponting is still left although the best is over.

It's nothing like that. I was expecting that though, I didn't know he was definitely going to the 2011 World Cup though. If he wasn't, retiring was the right thing to do, so a replacement no 3 and captain, could be sorted.

He was in career best form last year in ODIs, his form seems to have dropped along with his Test slump unlike some other players like Hussey who managed to maintain his ODI form while in a Test slump. Obviously if Ponting couldn't make the WC the selectors would have pushed him along.

The catch he took today off Malik would probably doubt him on his decision. :p

He will retire after winning World Cup 2011.

That catch off Malik he didnt need to dive. he saw it soo early and then decided to make it look fancy.

He will be the first captain to win three World Cups and Lose three Ashes series in England lol.
