Problem: All rounder no longer bowls in Career Mode (PS3)

Hi,

Was curious if anyone else had seen any issues with an All Rounder no longer being picked to bowl in Career mode after the Aus T20 competition?

Started off my career with South Australia as a No. 4 All Rounder and used Simulate to Career player in all matches. In the Shield and the 50-over format, my player got anywhere from 5-10 overs per innings. Then chose to play for Brisbane in the T20, same behaviour regards to bowling - got 4 or 5 per innings all the way through to the Final.

Now, since that time, in either the Shield or 50-overs, my player doesn't get a single over to bowl.

Also - at some point, my level went from 1 to 2 (right around the completion of the T20 comp), so not sure if that maybe had something to do with it? Or if this is a wider known bug?

Searched the forums (And google) but haven't yet turned up any other occurrences by other players.

Cheers

I have the similar issue on Xbox360, base on my understanding if you are batsman-allrounder and preforming well as the batsman you don't get bowling.

Thanks for the response - if this is true, I suspect I'll be getting a bowl sooner than I'd like. I was tearing it up (T20 avg 117; Shield ~ 57, 50-overs ~43) with the willow before moving up a level and now like everyone else, having a devil of a time getting past 20 in all comps. Now have more ducks than I care to admit.

Erg - great game but very hard to be patient and not try to whack everything for 4.

;-)

Just an update for any future users who encounter this issue - Wolfin2010 appears to be correct in that if you are a little too good with the bat as an All Rounder - your chances for having a bowl seem to go away. Opportunity to bowl reappears after a run of poor batting. I have no way in to quantify 'bad batting', but after moving up from Career level 1 to 2, my batting suffered greatly - went from averaging 35.00 in the 4-day format to getting a handful of ducks and < 10 run innings before all of a sudden I'm bowling again.

Kind of frustrating - would love to do well with the bat *AND* ball and not have the bowling taken away simply because I'm doing well with the bat.

You can mitigate that a little by choosing to be a bowling all-rounder instead, and setting your batting position to be as high as possible (about 4 or 5 I think). At the start of your career, the extra stats you would have started with had you chose a batting all-rounder can be reclaimed quite easily by batting well for a few games.

I have tried as a bowling all-rounder but the problem is still there. If you are very good in batting, your chances of bowling comes down. Only if you start the career as bowler you have the chance of getting bowling regularly but you don't get batting on many occasions.

I circumvent this by having two careers: tailend fast bowler and opening bat: if I am in the mood to bowl, career 1, if I fancy batting, career 2......
