Problems staying logged in

I didn't really understand your post Matt your talking to someone who has no technical skills. I have http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/ saved as my bookmark. Whenever I click it, I have to log in. And yes Hitty I have clicked remember me
I was mentioning the www in the url is important here.
For a test of what I'm saying (probably simpler to follow):
Open this link in a new tab: http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/vbookie.php?
Then open this link in another new tab: http://planetcricket.org/forums/vbookie.php?

One of those links will result in you being not logged in, but one should work normally.

Iam sure that its due to CNAME as matt already told. If you have registered using"planetcricket.org" you have to register again if you use"www.planetcricket.org" as the cname changes:)

WAIT: Working for me in both Matt.

Yeah I understand the example. What I don't understand is how to make it work. I've put in the exact adress of the one that works into my "exceptions" folder and yet it still doesn't work

Exceptions folder? If you mean you clicked the button that says exceptions in the password section of the Firefox options and put in the PC domain there, you have done the opposite of what you want. That will make it so that you only stay logged in for something like an hour before it will ask you to log in again.

Nah I meant "Exceptions" in the Privacy Section next to Cookies

It's nothing to do with registration, it's just login. The sites are the same but they send and receive different data (such as Cookies). It's for security reasons.

How do you have it set, 'Allow for session' or 'Allow'?

My page for that is empty and have no problems staying logged in (I'm taking wild guesses at the problem), all I can tell you that it is a problem at your end.

Well there's now nothing there

Right I think it is back to basics. Everything is how it was when I first logged in and realised I had a problem. What should I normally do?

Well just browse as you usually do, copying the url from the address bar into a document of some form every so often, then if you find a page where you aren't logged in, get that url as well. Then let me know what link you took to get to that page (so what page you went from to get an error). I'll then take a look at it.

Well I had a quick browse around. Every single thread or section e.g. casino worked for me. I even clicked on the planetcricket link on my bookmark and it worked. However when I exit out of firefox and then re-load it and click on the planetcricket link on my bookmark, it takes me to the main forum page with me logged out. I've compared the URL from when I'm logged in and logged out and they are both the same.

I do appreciate this, btw, Matt :cheers

Oh yes. I was really suspecting the www. problem. Confirmed now Matt.

Hey Tom, I think you got to do this.

Go to Tools, options, and then to the privacy tab. Check, that is the "Always clear my private data when I close firefox" is unchecked. Also above it in the cookies section, in the drop down menu, it should be "Keep till they expire". :)

Hope this does it. :D

That's a good one dude. I did this when i installed firefox. Thanks:thumbs

Maybe its a sign, Tom.

PlanetCricket doesn't want you here!
