Alright guys after not getting the game through the post I could not wait no more so decided to go buy it instead. I have played around with it a bit, you know starting matches and stuff but half matches only....you will know what I mean after you read....oh and I will be posting more than one review as my knowledge of the game opens up more....
First Impressions!
So got to the main menu everything seemed pretty simple decided to dive into a custom ODI against India on Test level as Pakistan, oh and it was set to realistic. I was put into bowl and for once was looking forward to it until the first over had finished. I am saying that because no matter where I bowled the AI was determind to hit the ball on the legisde no matter what, it is really frustrating, this hit me hard, and I realised that it would be a nightmare playing 50 Overs on Test level because by the time the cpu finish their 50 the score would be way past 400.....just to let you know after 2 overs the CPU was 45-0!
Oh and one other thing I noticed was that some of the World Cup kits are incredibly un-accurate which is a shame as this is meant to be a fully licenced game and all....
Playing On A Bit More!
I decided to stick to that match, I was very close to getting my first wicked when I realised I had a chance from an edge. This was another thing we could have come to expect I barley saw the batsman edge it and the bar went friggin fast. So after a few frustrating minutes I got a wicket which made me want to keep playing because it was a good wicket and I guess this is why the bowling has good risk/reward feature I guess you can say......well it felt like that when middle stump went cartwheeling back!
Starting Over Again!
After being hammered 4 or 5 times trying to play and getting told to bowl I decided I would go into warm up matches so I set one up between Australia (me) vs South Africa....I finally won the toss and decided to bat this time the mode was set to balanced it made a quite a difference the bowlers felt faster and I didn't get off to a flying start from the go. I also decided to set it to 30 overs from expirance from the last game 30 seems enough especially now that the batsman attack...so far I have been enjoying that match but forgot to save it lol so will have to start again.
One thing I noticed was that you can choose where you want to start in the World Cup, whats up with this? I mean how do you play a full World Cup without choosing were to start?
Mental Batsman PWN Humans!
Okay I know there are enough complaints here but these things caught my eye the most and this is one major bug or it might not be, but I class this more important than the spinners opening. The CPU batsman are mental having bowled 3-4 times in a row for each match I played I picked up that they seem to just go mad, 50 Overs on realistic setting and even if I bowl a leg cutter outside the off stump they decide to try and drag it onto the leg side as I mentioned above. I don't know if this happens with the mode set to balanced but if it does then you guys are best of playing on 30 overs because they completly destroy the bowlers!
Sorry if it sounds to much on the bad side but these things just caught my eye at first, next review will have more of the good points but to tell the truth I have enjoyed it so far although it may not sound it....
