Haha, thanks. But I'll forward it to the one who guesses this one correctly.

Not really. You could hear the victim make a statement. So it makes sense to believe that he himself pressed the button.

Debatable. But not the answer I was looking for.
Maybe the person who killed him rang the police? :D

A man was found dead with a gun in one hand and a tape recorder in the other. The police arrived at the scene and pressed the "Play" button.

The recorder started playing, "I have got nothing left to live for. I'm done" followed by a loud gun shot.

The police immediately concluded that it was a case of homicide rather than a suicide.

How did they deduce that?*

* There may or may not be more than one correct answer
To play a recorded tape one needs to rewind it, and what police did is they pressed the "Play" button. A dead person cannot rewind the tape.

Yep. That's one of the answer. I'll transfer the vCash shortly.

However, there are 2 more (that I can think of) plausible answers that make sense too.

(1) The gun in the victim's hand was fully loaded. The police would have surely checked that too.
(2) The voice in the recorder was that of a woman.
