Hi Everyone!
I have finshed working on my version 5 patch.
Things that have changed from version 4.0 are:
*Batting shots are a bit weaker.
*One Day batting is simillar, but the aggresive shots that were too aggresive have been fixed.
*Advancing down the wicket will occasionally get the ball somewhere, but most of the time it is very risky.
*The aggresive shots can be played but only clear the infield if they are timed right.
*Bowling to the CPU in one dayers is harder, the CPU's pacing has ben changed to make it a bit more aggresive.
*Test Cricket batting has been made tougher, it takes a while for your confidence to build up, you have to play your batsman in before trying extravagent shots.
*Edges are more frequent in tests, this stops you from just going along slowly and not losing any wickets.
EXTRA NOTE: This version does not include the kit update, i had a lot of problems with it and i couldn't include it. I will be trying hard to release a version 5.1 which will include the kit update but untill then just use this with the original gob.
HERES THE PATCH INFO:
This patch is supposed to be used with Sam's Edited EXE.
(get it from www.planetcricket.org at the downloads section.)
This patch is meant to make Cricket 2004 a challenge to play for the most skilled gamers. (if you are not sure that you are absolutly ready for it don't downlaod it and complain about it being hard!)
The patch changes the following types of matches:
50 over One Day Internationals
45 over One Day Internationals
and Test Matches.
The batting has been made harder for both and so has the bowling. The Pacing files have been edited for 45 over and 50 over ODI's, so the CPU should set a decent score and bat through their innings, and also the shots have been made harder to play. It wil be harder to hit boundaries unless you time the shot beautifully.
Edges occur a lot more druing the match and they occur more if you play accross the line of the ball.
The shots have been made weaker, so boundaries are harder to find, placing your shots and quick singles will be how you get most of your runs.
Charging down the wicket is now much harder to play.
When you go to install the patch make sure that the original cricket_pc.gob file is installed in your Cricket 2004 directory, otherwsie the program will not install!
Thats about it for now, please post your reviews, feedback, suggestions, ect.............
All comments are appreciated, good or bad!
Cheers and have fun
