Random Thoughts

Aww, someone get the violin out ;) Guessing things aren't going swimmingly in the lovelife department? How are things going other than with the ladies?

Nothing like a dumping out of the blue (by text to make it worse!) aye? Then again my mates have already organised my first properly single Saturday night in a loooong time, so should be interesting to see how that goes, without getting nagged if I so much as glance at another woman ;) Apart from that, life is insanely awesome at the moment mate, couldn't be better, how about you?

Yeah, so my friends threw me a hugeeee surprise birthday party on Monday. I had no clue whatsoever. I was shocked, swore I had an absolute heart attack.

Gonna miss these guys...

In other news, I started work the day I turned 18! Summer internship in a chemistry lab, first paid job. Sucks :(

Want some opinion.

I go to an 'elite' Indian coaching centre, and I loathe it there. Groups of immature unsocial kids solving problems like nerds. I am contemplating starting a blog, denouncing them, to vent my exasperation against the fried chickening coaching centres. If I denounce them, would that make me subject to get sued by them for maligning their brand? I don't remember exactly, but I guess the terms and conditions stated that I would be responsible for any defamation against them, and perhaps they could take it to the court as well.

If yes, should I do it if I can keep the brand anonymous, and state clearly that I only mean to share my experiences?

Genuinely, I only want to vent my exasperation and maul their hypocriticalness to pieces. They are as shitty as anything, but most people here are too stupid and stereotyped to realise it.

Coaching for what?

No you won't get sued because of freedom of speech/freedom of press. You're allowed to write whatever you want about them as long as it doesn't include any falsifications. Defamation is when you are using lies - if what you are saying is true, or you consider it to be true, you can't be found guilty of it.

True. I think you're talking about Entrance exam institutes. As Chewie said, you won't get sued. Keep it's anonymity. The more saddening thing is, most of the students who join these classes boast about it as if they're already IITians (just by joining them). I had some of those friends and all they did was talk about it all the time. The end result was no one getting close to their aim.

Coaching for an entrance exam, for which I don't care at all. Just joined because I received a lot of scholarship. It's a trend here, if you don't join one of these you're one of those science students who choose to stay behind in life, and don't want to study in life (:rolleyes). I blame myself for joining it, but my aim for joining it was to rather KNOW what they do than cramming all those students. I hardly pay any attention to what they demand of me, although what they teach is still interesting, but only sometimes. Otherwise you feel smothered. Other students don't feel it though.

It's all true, but the problem is most people don't actually realise it, so most of them will probably see my points as wrong and immature, and blasphemous. And I want to spread my rant around, just want everybody to fried chickening read it.

EDIT : Sorry if it sounded aggressive, the rant factor instinctively kicks in when I am talking about these institutes.

Besides that, I love the expression on my friends face when I tell him that couldn't do the work because I was busy studying SCIENCE, real science, which is far more different than what they teach. There's not even a pinch of astrophysics or theoretical physics or astronomy or particle physics, my four favourite topics in science, and the ones I want to take up as a profession when I'm going for undergraduate studies. Feels bad.

You're describing a very similar experience to what I have here Varun. All about the grades, and not about the learning. Very depressing. But I've ranted enough on this topic. All you can do is just live your life, enjoy it, keep learning and working hard, and ignore the others.

Don't know, but it looks like you have been looking at a thesaurus for far too long ;).
