Random Thoughts

Yesterday I got to the bus stop at 8.20, had to wait until 8.45 for a bus that wasn't full to pass. I counted 8 buses that went by without stopping because they were full. The thing is that for each bus that goes past, the people waiting at the bus stop gets larger and so when a bus does come it might not have enough room for everyone :/

Five full buses passing is my record so far, and also four have passed once, they were both on the first two days (Mon and Tues last week).

The last two days I haven't had to wait at all, yesterday I felt like such a dick though. I just got to the stop and there was already like 20 people waiting, and this bus pulled in pretty much straight after I'd got there but it was full so he waved us off, but he was letting some people off, so once he'd done that he had enough room for a few more people and I one of the first to walk over so I got on, while there was still like 15 others who had to wait there.

Today the bus passed me two bus stops back as I was walking up to the one stage place, and it was still there loading people on when I got up there so I didn't have to wait at all.

haha you walk a few bus stops along so you have to pay less? I could walk 20 mins into newmarket to get a cheaper ride but I can't be bothered

That's much better than Mumbai, you have to wait 15-20 minutes for specific buses and when the come they're all crammed up like hell with people hanging out like monkeys. Plus the traffic is so much, during the morning adn evening especially

I got to uni today at 12:40, after the time it took to find a parking spot I was 2 minutes late to the class at 1.

Still, beats the bus option, there's one bus every half hour out to near my house, then that takes me to the city, then I have to find another bus to take me out to uni.

Parking at university is extremely expensive. $4 per hour I think, and that's if you can actually find a park. They can be ridiculously hard to find normally, and even if you find one they'll be a decent distance from your lecture room. In comparison, my bus costs $4 total. At rush hour, buses are quicker as well. Just annoying having to wait for one and potentially having to stand up for the whole journey.

You just hyped it a lot, the condition is not that bad. Yeah, sometimes you may have to wait for 15-20 minutes, not always. And ever traveled in local trains, if yes, then you should be in love with the buses here.

Underground metro in Delhi. :/
The last time I went in, it was so damn congested, it was difficult to move in that crowd until the Chandni Chowk station arrived.

Yeah, it's only three blocks, there's one stop in the block closest to my house, another in the next stop, and the one stage borderline in the next block. It's like a 7/8 minute walk there, which is only like 5 minutes more than the 2/3 minute walk to the closest stop from my house. Also some of the buses are limited stops, so they only stop at the stage barrier one.

It costs me 90 cents each way ATM on my school ID which doesn't expire until the end of this month, so that's under $2 a day which is pretty good. I think once my school ID expires it'll cost me like an extra 20 cents each way on my uni ID.

In terms of cars, I was talking to someone in my business group who drives in, and she pays like $9 a day I think it was to have a reserved park in the car park under the business school. I think she said you pay like $160 a month or something like that, which from 20 weekdays is like $8/9.

Just a random question, do mobile phones get network coverage in the underground metro?

Did you manage to get to your classes on time?? I get the train and they are pretty bad, keep breaking down all the time. I've been late to my last two lectures and my class is right next to the station.

Was watching Two and a Half Men today, and now I can't get this damn song out of my head. And since it's stuck in my head, it may as well be stuck in yours.

Save the orphans, aaaaaahhhhhhhhaaaaaaa, save the orphans ....
