Recommendations/help on my New Laptop

Well, run it then. D2D sounds like Disc to disc so, you may have a recovery partition on your hard-drive.

I recovered my whole laptop.. :)

20 GB free :).

I pressed ALT + F10
Acer recovery came up
I pressed "Recover to factory default"
Then it took 1 hour for it to re-install everything
Then I downloaded windows updates
Then I logged on to PlanetCricket
Now I’m putting Songs, Images, stuff back with USB.
:)

However when I was installing "Graphic Card driver update" suddenly the screen went all black, and i had some wired white pictures on the black background, like kinda smiley faces? (Lasted for 5 seconds, the screen res became low, then everything became normal. I did virus scan. There was nothing. And PC is running good too.) Was that just normal or what?

Example:

Cheers.

Very nice pic :D

This is your driver testing itself - nothing to worry about at all.

and even i think, it was just a graphics card test...

haha :), you guys rule

Thanks for help every single one of you!

Abhas your a legend.

* I am on a Wireless Internet network
* I am using my laptop only with one account (admin), and with no password (I dont need a password as no one uses it expect me)

Should I turn off the User Account Control?
It's damn annoying.

i am doing the same and i have disabled UAC.. it may be risky on a wireless network...

make sure, atleast one is password protected, either the wireless network, or your computer. ( you should assign a password to your admin account)

it would be much better if both have passwords.

also, if you are not using file sharing, DO NOT enable file sharing on any of your drives... it would make things much easier for any intruder.

PS : i am using a password on my wireless network, but not on my user account...

Yes again thanks.. lol you know i love this thread.
