Red Dead Redemption

Went to go buy RDR today, and they were all sold out :crying !

Apparently it's sold out in the whole of NZ so I'm going to have to buy it at EB Games' rdiciulous prices.

I'll probably just get it after my exams are over in a few weeks.

No. Do you want to know where it is?

That would be great, thank you.

EB Games were sold out near me too, so I went to Harvey Norman and they had a shelf full of it.

Yeah I got the last one at my EB games

Also guys this is a great forum: RED DEAD REDEMPTION Forums

Has things you might of missed (such as the slitting of the throat) and how to get 100% once you finish the story and if you get stuck as there is A LOT of things to do to get 100

I just bought the game. I could resist no longer. It was the second last one left :)

And then I get home and fire it up, and you wouldn't believe it but for the FIRST TIME EVER my PS3 controller needs to be recharged! I have a 1-2 hour wait before I can play :facepalm

ah ████ cause im awake :)

dont do the hunting challenges, lets do those together, im still on level 2

Got it elsewhere :banana2 .

It's really an awesome game, but my time with Uncharted 2 makes me think the auto-aim sucks, so I'm gonna just use expert targeting. It'll be tough on horseback though.

But I'm not going to let myself play it again until after my exams. I made sure I didn't watch any cutscenes or make any saves so I don't feel like going back.

Where is Thieves' Landing btw? I really wanted the elegant suit trophy so I reach level 8 in trophies, but didn't get there because I couldn't find it in the map.

All I really did was shot a few guys and rode my horse for ages, about 7 or 8% completion :D .

I'll need to add you guys, Don and Oz.

What's your guys favourite lines in the game, there are some beauties in there but my favourite come from the stranger mission, 'Flowers for a lady'.

"You don't look a day after 30"

Hm, I went looking for beavers for a stranger. Went up north to one of the rivers at night. On the way, some guy tried to steal my horse, I showed him who's boss. So I found a beaver, shot it, to find that anything more powerful than a pistol flinging vaporizes the poor things. Then I heard that terrible growl of a cougar. I thought "oh ████" and started looking in all directions. The ████ still got me from behind, but I shot him after I got up. So after searching randomly for about half an hour, I came up with two beavers, neato. After killing approximately 20 cougars, I heard something running up behind me. I knew what was coming, so I quickly spun around and shot. Oops. Turns out I kind of shot my trusty horse. Damn. It's lying there dead, so I skinned it, why not haha.

I decided to go a bit south-west, to the edge of the river down near Bearclaw Camp. I decided to take a quick route, so I went through Tall Trees. Heh. I saw a bear just sitting there, so I decided to shoot it twice in the head with my trusty Bolt-Action, then skinned it. After I was done skinning it, I saw another bear charging right at me, took that one out. Unfortunately, I ended up being chased by three bears at once right after that, and almost ran straight into a fourth right in front of me. By now I was absolutely shitting myself, and I managed to find an open bit of land with no trees, where I started launching Fire Bottles at the bears which worked a treat. I then saw two boars, which started charging at me. Damnit. I took both of them out, and skinned them, as I did need them for the Master Hunter challenge. Then MORE flinging bears came at me. In the end, I pissbolted. Do you know how frightening it is to be chased by three or four bears at once on foot? It's not fun.

So I finally made it around to the bit of river I was going to. Could not find a single flinging beaver. At all. I found about 30 wolves, but that's no fun.

So in the end, I accounted for:

  • 2 Beavers
  • ~20 Cougars
  • ~30 Wolves
  • 3 Snakes
  • ~15 Bears
  • 5 Boars (My one success)
  • A flinging lunatic who tried to steal my flinging horse
  • And finally, my tweaking horse

Tune in for another episode of John* Marston: Man Vs. Wild!
