Reputation Points

I have created this thread to discuss reputation points. I thought that you would only decrease in reputation when breaking a forum rule. In January I broke a forum rule by giving away controls to Cricket 2004. I decreased in reputation for that but I deserved it. Recently I have had my reputation points fall a long way down, and have carefully read over every post I have made. None of my posts seem to break forum rules, so why have I been decreased in reputation because I expressed my opinion? Could someone please tell me why my reputation is not very good and explain why I lost the reputation in the first place. Also, how come Administrators and other people who work on Planet Cricket have so much reputation points? Please explain.

Blocks are for 100. The light green block means you have over 500. I've been given a fair bit but as Andrew says I've also been lucky with the cricket results...
