Retirements in 2008

No waay. If he retires close to that time he will tour australia again. Seeing as though this is his final tour. I do not think so. Sachin will retire this year if not the year after.

Nah i doubt he will retire this year or maybe even next year...

Is anyone saying Ponting will retire. No.

Then why talk about Tendulkar. Hes just 13-14 months old than Punter.

Because Ponting is test Captain and has just hit his peak. Everyone gets the feeling with Sachin that he is getting to that retirement stage.

But it's only talk, you shouldn't give a rats ass.

Maybe Andy Bichel might retire?

No one cares about him!:( In terms of skill, in my opinion he should play ahead of Johnson in the test team, much more penetrative ball and rivals his skill in batting. Alas, the selectors are looking toward the future and not a band-aid selection.

I'm begging everyone to give Johnson some time to develop. For once Australia have picked someone at a young age from talent. He will take time but it can all be worth it eventully. I don't see why you would want a 37 year old Andy Bichel but as you said he will retire from First Class cricket soon anyway.

Sachin will definatly retire very soon from ODI i dont think he will go to the world cup and tests in 1 - 2 years

Yes he may be only 34 or 35 BUT because he started at such a young age an has played so many games his body has gone through alot more than ponting.
Also the fact that everyone depends so much on him in india and expects so much from him wears him down mentally.

Tendulkar has peaked again, though. And he doesn't show any signs of injuries or anything, as ponting has :(..

When they finish their careers: Ponting>Tendulkar

But lets leave that to another thread eh?;)
