Spinner Giles to miss Tour

England spinner Ashley Giles will miss the tour to India due to hip problems.

"It is a shame to miss the tour but it gives a oppotuniy to others " said Giles
I back either Alex [Loudon] or Monty [Panasar] for the spot they both are high quality bowlers in first class cricket.

"I hope to recover for the next tour to Sri Lanka"

Newbies delight at tour choice
Alex Loudon, Monty Panasar and Ed Joyce are happy by being chosen for India.

Loudon said "I felt that Gilo's injury opened the door for me"
He is a good bowler and I hope to make an impact"

Panesar said "I can give England someone who can turn the ball, I'm happy I could be the first Sikh to play for England and I hope I can play"

Joyce said "I have been thought as a future England Player and I will relish the oppotunity to play if I get the chance"

Indian Captian Rahul Dravid preditcs the series will be close.

"We have both have tough sides, it will be great series" said Dravid

"We both have a lot of spinners in our squad, so England have as much spin we do"

"Both our middle order batting is strong, you get rid of the top order cheaply then you can win the game"

We can win if we play our best crcket-Vaughan

"We need to play a lot better than we did in Pakistan" the England captian told us
"India have proved what a fantasic side they are over the years, we need the boys in form for the tour"

England need to pick a diffrent spinner for the tour due to a hip injury that Ashley Giles has susstained.

"Ash is a crucial player in our squad we will just have to do without him"

Tough one to call. I would say that India might be too good at home against the English.

The England team have arrived in India,
The England players led by Michael Vaughan took off on a plane yesterday and have landed this morning.
"The Indian hospitallity is brilliant" said the England captian
"They are eager for this series"
"We hope to get rid of a few demons which we got in Pakistan" Vaughan said
"We hope to put on a better performance"
