Scotland arrive in France to launch their Rugby World Cup campaign

The Scotland squad have arrived in France for the IRB Rugby World Cup 2007.

They are staying in a hotel in Saint-?tienne ahead of their opening match against minnows Portugal.

Coach Frank Hadden says the Scots are stronger and hungrier than they were in 1991, when they finished 4th in the tournament.

"Scotland and here, Scotland are ready and Scotland are raring to go," he roared with passion.

"I have never felt more optimistic about a Scottish side at a Rugby World Cup."

No, I'm not Scottish at all, I just really like Scotland and the Scottish people. So much so I'm going to Scotland on holiday next year.

I had planned to post the result of Scotland vs Portugal this morning, before I went away for a few days, but I woke up later than expected since I went to bed late because of the World Cup final. So, more on Tuesday I'm afraid.

I don't know yet. I am going to stay with my godmother in Sheffield before moving onto Northumberland and then across the border into Scotland, driving around and spontaneously stopping for the night.

SCOTLAND OFF TO WINNING START AT RUGBY WORLD CUP 2007

Scotland have won their opening match of the Rugby World Cup 2007, against Portugal in Saint Etienne.

Portugal went in front early as they scored a penalty awarded because a Scot had tackled a man in the air.

Scotland soon got going though and found plenty of holes in the Mediterranean defence.

They racked up the tries and eventually won by 37 points to 10.

The victory leaves them in a strong position in the group table with a game in hand on the leaders New Zealand. They have Romania, Italy and the All Blacks left to play.

It is a lot of fun and quite realistic as well. A hardcore rugby union fan might see through it though like we do with cricket games. If you are casual to interested fan though, buy it. There are some mods on The Rugby Forum to tart it up with too.
