Click on the lasso tool on the toolbox and hold it, you should be able to select polygonal lasso or magnetic lasso.
Heres a tutorial on the kookaburra genesis i made from scratch:
[BLIC]
1. Find a picture of the bat your making. Leave that open but also copy the back part over the bat of the texture. Although my pic is at an angle, you need it to get the whole thing in proportion.
2. For the two back patterns in the middle, i didn't make them from scratch i used the pic as they were high-res and clear enough to use.
3. For the pentagon bit use the polygon shape tool with 5 sides (rasterize the layer afterwards). then use the eliptical marquee to delete a bit off the top. Then find a kookaburrra logo and paste the bird in it.
4. Now for the top bit. For the two side gradient parts use the polygonal lasso to select them, then sleect the color from the photo you have and use the gradient over it. Copy it and flip it horizantly and match it on the other side.
5. Next use the rectangle marquee to select the gap in between the two yellow and red parts, and give it a grey and black gradient as shown. Use the eliciptial marquee to cut a bit of the bottom. then add the kookaburra text you can find here
http://kookaburra.biz/.
6. Now for the front. Find a pic of the front and strech it over the front template bit to get proportion right. Find a large kookaburra logo off google or something. and paste it on and use the photo to get it the right size.
7. Now to change it. Select the small part on the right of the logo (with the magic wand) and make it dark until it's black. Then add a 2px grey stroke on the outside. The select the big part in the middle. Use the yellow and red colors of the photo you have and use the gradient on it and give it 2px black stroke. Then select the bird and the cricle and make them black.
8. Then you can add the text. All you have to do is write "Genesis" in red with a font similat to mine and give it a 1px black stroke. then just write tornado in arial black.
Done! Hope this helps.
