Sehwag wants to bat in the middle order - Your take?

Sounds like another Sehwag.

You need a batsman who can make runs on South African wickets if your team is going to be a world-beater. Not someone who can cash in on a flat-wicket and score triple hundreds.

I doubt any of your batsman will be able to do what Hughes did to South Africa in South Africa just recently. Not even Sachin or Dravid could reach those heights in those parts of the world. ;)

South Africa is not the Everest of the cricketing world.

The current Indian batting line up is arguably the best in the world right now and I am not exaggerating.

Beat South Africa in South Africa 2-1 in the Test series. I'd say that we're doing mighty fine at the present and have acchieved more success in South Africa just recently then what India will do for a fair while.

We will see to that when we tour SA next. As someone else said, one good tour of SA doesnt make you cocky headed back again.

Guys like Ricky Ponting can't even make runs on our 'flat tracks' ;).

Play 5 days of cricket in 100 degree weather, with humidity at around 99%, and get back to me bud. Thanks.

All I'm saying is that you need a batsman to be able to dominate in South Africa, because they are the only team that you haven't come close to beating away. Up until this point, VVS Laxman tops the averages for India batsman in South Africa with an average of 41 and he hasn't scored any hundreds either.

Come close to beating away? We lost our last tour there 2-1. Going into the third test the series was tied 1-1 and we even had the first innings lead. It took a strong rearguard action from Boucher and Pollock and a great Steyn spell in the second innings for them to beat us.

@Topic: Sehwag should stay at the opener's spot until Laxman/Tendulkar retire and then move into their spot.

Or is my sarcasm meter bad and you just trying to get these dudes frustrated.

Of course you could have done better, Dare. ;)

Regarding to topic, I guess Sehwag can bat down the order if there is a good opener with Gauti, Or else, if he keeps running his mouth too much, he can be left out. :p

What is really your problem mate? We understand that you are jealous and apprehensive of Sehwag having already overshadowed that Queenslander. But it becomes embarrassing to see every thread being spammed by you with seeds of illogical hate.

Sehwag is best opening with Gambhir. I think it is after eons we have such a stable and match-determining opening partnership, perhaps first such thing since Gavaskar-Chauhan, and I think even better than that. Perhaps, best ever test opening partnership we have got??

And yeah, not even the great ol Braddy did it, so Hughes > Braddy > Hayden?:cheers

Didn't come close to beating? I must have been dreaming when Sreesanth was making a mokery of the South African batsman and Ganguly was making a dream comeback in South Africa last time around.

Don't you bother him. He is just trying to wind us up. It's quite natural, isn't it? Why do you think 30 year old uncles visit e-forums? ;) They have no other work to do. I feel for them. :crying Poor chaps.
