Nothing groundbreaking here, just a little guide on how to get a simple 1px black border around your sigs and avatars;

Step 1

When you have finished your sig/avatar, create a new layer by pressing Ctrl+Shift+N, and call this layer 'Border Layer' then press okay.

Make sure this layer goes above every other layer by dragging it to the top.

Step 2

Make sure that you select 'Border Layer' and then press Ctrl+A so that you select all of your canvas. Next, go to 'Edit' and then scroll down to 'Stroke' and click it.

A new window like the one shown below should open up;

Make sure you apply the same settings as shown in the screenshot, and then click okay. Viola! You have the simplest of borders on your graphic. Try experimenting with different sizes and shapes to get better results because borders give a little more proffessional look to graphics in my opinion.

i agree ur point , " borders give a little more proffessional look to graphics "!!! :happy

Nice stuff.Something else that you could try is making a layer under the black border layer,use the same technique but keep the size as 2px and color as white.Then set this layer to overlay.Mainly looks good in colourful sigs.
