In this thread, I will explain step by step on how to make good looking, and effective skins for ICC.

Lets get started then.

The first file we are going to look at is the "main.bmp" file.

2007-06-11_163047.jpg

So you can open that file up.

Next, because the file is locked we open up a new file in which we paste the whole thing over. Make sure the settings look something like this:

3-2.jpg

In the next step, you basically just make rectangles and squares to cover up the skin. I use 2 colours which are based on the team or the company.

4-3.jpg

Once you've covered everything, you should have something like this on your screen:

5-2.jpg

Now, if you just leave it like this, it'll be really hard to read. So you have to make the rectangles opaque. Change the opacity to 30-50. I used 45 for this example. Do that for all of the rectangles.

6-2.jpg

Now that you can see the background image, you would like to change that. Grab a image, and resize it (Ctrl+T) to make it fit on the page. I have chosen a stadium for the example:

7-2.jpg

Now just take the Default background and remove it.

9-1.jpg

Change the opacity level of the background image to around 25%.

Move the layer all the way to the bottom:

You can also take a logo and place it where the default one was. Congrats! You have just made the match preview screen. Now remember to save it as a .bmp file with the exact name. Take your file and put it in the "bkdps" folder in the ICC folder.

Part 2 will come soon.

Thanks for that mate, this should be helpful for a lot of members.

fireworks is bacically photoshop for beginners, its really easy to use like all of the micromedia stuff

How do you get Fireworks? I cant seem to download it off the adobe website and i have used my 30 day free trial up on photoshop and i was wandering is there anything else that i can make skins on or is it possible to use Microsoft Paint?

Paint isn't the greatest tool for this. Try GIMP, I've never used it, but it should have all the abilities that are needed.

your not allowed to post info about cracked ssoftware on here

I have just downloaded Fireworks and i was wandering if you could show me how to do part 1 in fireworks.

Also i dont have the origional skin so i am not sure what to do about the main background to use. Could somebody post it so that i can use it please.

Part 2

The Match Frame

Open up the tool which you are going to use (PS, Fireworks, GIMP), and open up mtchframe.bmp out of there. Now you may edit the fram, but ONLY EDIT THE RIGHT SIDE. LEAVE EVERYTHING ELSE AS IT IS!

Now, go to the GRNDS folder which is located in the ICC folder.

There you will see many grounds, and the other part of the Match Frame. Open one and then copy the whole thing like you did in the last part to a new window so you can edit it.

Now make the layout, something like this:

pt2one.jpg

Now, because I edited the Sussex one, I put the Sussex Cricket ground there. Remember to extend it so it fits the whole thing.

Than once you have changed the opacity of all the layers, its time to take the default out.

pt2two.jpg

Heres your final product:

pt2three.jpg

Now, you may want to play around with it and make the scorecard and stuff. Good luck! :)

good tut but why do u make them transparent? When I make them I keep em on full opacity and they are alright...

Depends what colour you put the bg on. Also 1 tip is that you must take a pic of the original screen and then use them boxes dimensions and where they are on the screen so that you make sure you have your boxes in the correct place underneath the text :)
