Players need to buck up and start taking time regulations seriously. Fines of $20,000 for the captain and $10,000 x 10 players for the first two offenses is serious money.
And fines of $50,000 for the third offence of the captain, apart from $20,000 x 10 players is a huge amount. People in Somalia can spend their entire life with that kind of money.

Aakash Chopra made a good point about the fines, stating that some local players, picked by every franchise get payed a "meagre" $50,000 salary. And if they spend $40,000 for one round (assuming the teams don't improve their overrates after 3 successive fines and start toeing the line again), they make a paltry $10,000, which is 1/5th the actual amount they should be receiving. If there is a 4th fine, these players may actually be paying out of their pockets, which is quite ridiculous, given that $10,000 is around Rs.5 lakhs.
Not every franchise is a Reliance to bear the fines. Actually, even Reliance made a statement after Harbhajan's fine (for poor behaviour) that "it is yet to decided whether the fine will be beared by the franchise or the player".
I hope the players start taking the rules seriously. And its a welcome one, despite the fines being too steep, one may add, coz when fines pinch someone's wallet, he'd work extra hard to avoid getting a rap on the knuckles again.
