Stopping India from Topping ICC charts is impossible! What do you think?

This kinda thread always pops up?
I agree with Dan except for the part that says,

Katich>Sehwag

Katich cant be compared to Sehwag(doesnt mean he is superior.) You can find a bunch of other guys to compare with.
And
Haddin > Dhoni
can be
Haddin >= Dhoni

Now who's the genius who starts Ind vs Rest of the World threads?
Really a great wise person. A gift for Hindustan:p.
Now how do I use my admin rights? :D

BUT the win in sub-continent region is much counted in Stats isn't it?? do playing in sub-continent is that easy? if Yes why the hell your team with the God's in it fail poorly and was white wash? overall indirectly it comes out you saying Sub- c is a easy ground to play. maybe a batting surface region but we dont select your team to tour India it's your ECB or something .

I can answer this Chetan, India in the subcontinent are better because they are use to the conditions and have the players that thrive in the conditions, take them to say South Africa South Africa would easily beat them as spin inst very effective and seam bowling is. The SA seam attack is far superior.

India's batting>>> Australia's any day of the week, month, year, decade.

Haddin's a cheat, so he shouldn't count in the first place. ;) And his keeping is garbage.

India's seamers average over 30 because they've played most of their matches on placid Indian tracks. What do you expect? And Zaheer has really peaked over the last year and a half, and is one of the best seam bowlers in the world. Ishant has just started and had an iffy start to his career, but has really blossomed.

Siddle hasn't impressed me. At all.

Sreesanth is a fine third seamer. But we don't need one, we have a class spin attack of Mishra/Harbhajan. Sure, people may call Bhaj trash and I agree, but the combination works for us and you don't need to fix something that isn't broken.

So -

Sehwag > Katich
Gambhir > Jaques
Dravid (In form) = Ponting, out of form Dravid < Ponting
Tendulkar > Clarke
Laxman < Hussey
Yuvraj/Badrinath > Aussie #6.
Dhoni > Haddin

Bowling -

Zaheer = Lee (In form), Zaheer > Lee Currently.
Ishant < Johnson
Mishra/Harbhajan > Siddle/Clark

Fielding - Aussies. But India's getting better ;)

I think we are clearly the better side.

Say's who?
Says me and the test stats for both of them.
Says you in your bias opinion. According to the ICC rankings (which you liked so much in the other thread) Australia are still better than India.
Yeah and i never mentioned according to ICC rankings. Its was my opinnion. Also, they will be better soon.

True, they did rely on them hevily in the past, but they still have quality players, just their bowling is a bit weak.

Quality players, you mean Bret Lee<Ponting, and Husseys? Thats barely it. They struggled in their match against New Zealand. That shows how great Australia is. In the past times, New Zealand use to be nothing compared to Australia. Its was like Australia vs Bangladesh.

Ah. Nothing like a good bit of bias shown on a Saturday evening is there, MS Dhoni?
Great Australia tour on India. Who won the test series?

Totally agree. Finally someone actually watches cricket, currently.

Yeah and i never mentioned according to ICC rankings.

I'm already seeing a contradiction here (which I will try and ignore) but this is a direct quote from the KP vs Dhoni thread by you, here:

the whole world acepts ICC rankings. It doesn't matter if you disagree with it or not. I don't have to prove it right because its by ICC. If they don't make correct lists of rankings then why do we have them? ICC ranking is not enought just to prove KP useless? Highlander already accepted he is useless. I got people turn on my side but no1 turned from Dhoni to KP.

So you are chopping and changing, you either go by them, or you don't. It can't just be when it suits you.

You do realise, New Zealand are just behind India in the ODI rankings? I would also call Clarke a great player as well. He is third in the Test rankings. But it is kind of hard to replace a team straight away, when you have just lost both your openers, a wicket keeper, a pace bowler and a spin bowler. If you took away Sachin, Sehwag, Dhoni, Zaheer and Harbhajan, India would just flop.

If's and buts don't count my friend. Can't change what isn't in your hands.

Nothing would happen at all if India got rid of Sachin, Sehwag, Dhoni, and Harbhajan. The only big impact would be in the absence of Zaheer, but there too we have Sreesanth and co.

Sehwag -> Murali Vijay
Sachin - > Subramanium Badrinath
Dhoni -> Dinesh Karthik
Harbhajan -> Murali Kartik/Piyush Chawla/Praghyan Ojha

Cracking clich? there. It is a valid point which you have to accept. They just lost a massive chunk of their senior players, of course they need time to recover, the same thing would happen to India.

Yes, but you're making it seem as if they're all going to retire at the same time. I'm sure India will have learnt a lesson from Australia and will gradually phase out the seniors so the youngsters replacing them will not immediately be thrusted with the responsibilty of filling their shoes. This way, they can build a separate identity.

Here are our middle order replacements that are competing for selection once a senior retires or Yuvraj fails(at least we are led to believe):

1) Subramaniam Badrinath
2) Cheteshwar Pujara
3) Ajinkya Rahane
4) Manoj Tiwary

I wasn't saying it was going to happen. I was saying imagine if you had all those players suddenly no longer available within practically a year of each other, like Australia did. I know it won't happen to India like that, I was just making the point that it is unfair to start Aussie bashing because of what has happened to their team.

Well, if you take the plaudits when everything's going great, then you are going to have to put up with the bashing when things go wrong. I guess I don't have to emphasize the arrogance that characterized the previous Aussie team. So they reap what they sowed!

The players that Australia lost are in the most part better than those Indians you mentioned. Hayden, Langer, Gilchrist, Martyn, McGrath, Warne and MacGill are all immense talents, and it was always going to take time to replace them. They'll be back though, their domestic system is superior to any in the world and with guys like Hughes, Pomersbach, Jaques, Johnson, Hodge, Dussey, Siddle, McGain, Hilfenhaus, Tait etc etc are all fantastically talented, and it's only a matter of time till Australia are back at the top.

Annoyingly.

They'll have to wait 10 Years at least. Because India and South Africa are producing some fantastic young players who are in their early to mid twenties. E.g, Steyn, Morkel, Sharma, Duminy.
