Symonds involved in pub incident

LOL what do you mean some people dont change. It was all because he was drunk lol and anything can happen when drunk.

Where does it even say he was drunk? He was out drinking with his mates. Nothing is wrong with that. And where does it even say he caused the confrontation? It says he was involved, doesn't mean he started it, you guys who are being so anti him should learn to read between the lines regarding the media.

Nice work there, good way of repaying trust, and I don't care for childish excuses like "I didn't provoke it".

So it was a lose, lose situation for Symonds then

Well, I'll be honest, I saw cricinfo's big headline and I replied before I read the complete story, I assumed it was something similar to the Jesse Ryder incident. Trouble does seem to be following him around at the moment.

But I don't know, can't just be the other person's fault, I'm guessing Symonds did something.

He did do something. He played International Cricket for Australia. You know what people are like, especially on alcohol. If you see someone famous in a bar and are drunk and they won't have a picture with you you're bound to do something stupid like throw a punch.

From reading the article it seems it's a media-concocted crap-milkshake. In fact the article really says nothing except that Symonds was out having a drink and some guy was being drunk around him...

Oh for christs sake, who bloody cares. I don't give two hoots what a sportsman gets upto off the field, unless he murders someone or is a ponce perhaps. As long as he performs on the pitch leave him the hell alone.
If he was performing on the pitch you might have a valid point.

Anyway the point here is not whether the fight was his fault, the point is that not long after he admitted that alcohol was getting him in bad situations, he's drinking alcohol again. Clearly he's learnt nothing from the last time he got in trouble, and it will be sooner rather than later that he does reoffend in a serious manner.

It's not that he provoked the guy, it's that he was out drinking despite having a drinking problem. If that hadn't happened, who knows whether he would have come home sober or not. He may have gotten drunk and done something worse.

If CA want an example of how to treat a troublesome player, they need look no further than Geelong's treatment of Steve Johnson. They suspended him for 5 weeks, forced him to train with the reserves team and forced him to go off the booze for the entire year. He came back, was named in the All Australian team and was best on ground in the Grand Final. All because he took his punishment seriously.

Times and MM had a page full of incidents of Symonds right from May 05 or even before that! Controversies and I are made for each other ;)

Had Bhajji done anything like this everyone would have been on his back.

Yeah, I guess that was a problem in itself, but the something I was looking for was that Symonds refused a photo or something along the lines, not his fault at all.

Rubbish. People like you would be throwing themselves in front of him, so your dear dear "Bhajji" wouldn't have anything horrible said about him. Anyway I can't really picture Harbhajan knocking back the vodka with Dhoni and Sachin ;) (Not saying that Symonds was drinking vodka btw ;))

Who says no one is on Symonds' back? I highly doubt there'd as many Indians jumping on Harbhajan's back than there are Australians criticising Symonds right now.
