Tendulkar looks at quitting ODIs

This would be a shame, but if it means he plays cricket for longer then its fine by me, what a great man

All what i feel is, media is making a big issue out of nothing. Earlier when he spoke to Times about the recovery factor, these news channels made it as a big flash news that he might quit cricket soon.

I believe still, there is plenty of cricket still left with this legend so called Sachin Tendulkar. :) It seems, his wife Anjali too have denied that he is going to retire.

'Tendulkar not quitting One-Dayers'
Tendulkar's wife Anjali told CNN-IBN that he has no plans of retiring.

What a good timepass for these media news channels :p Personally i have a slight feeling somehow that he will play his 2011 WC as his last international series and then retire like what McGrath did in this 2007 ;)

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

So he's not retiring? Not just yet at least?
WHOOOHOO!! :happy:happy

Those pooping media channels-playing with our emotions like that

Bring home the champs trophy, at least, Sach!

Anjali Tendulkar has confirmed that Sachin wont be retirng from the current tour.
She never mentioned anything about him not retiring after the home ODI's.

Well i suppose its good, but will it cut his test career and general cricket career shorter...who knows...

Well, he's not getting younger so there will be a time when he *has* to think of retiring. Tendulkar fans remember: he's just human, not superman...

One thing he cannot control is injuries. If he stays fit, I think he can make it to the age of 38-39 and still be playing but not much more than that.

Exactly. No one says he's superhuman. It's just that he's playing as well as he was during his peak so it'd be a bit strange, if not very sad, if he retires now.

Well he knows best of course, but he shouldn't retire too late -- remember Kapil Dev? Took some sheen away from a glorious career when everybody started whispering that he's playing only for chasing Hadlee's record...

I hope he retires on a high note, whenever he does... I think this is his last England tour though. Even Tendulkar admitted that.

Wow what a turn around. It's particularly amusing that Cricinfo has their conflicting articles side-by-side on their homepage. Oh, and I personally think that retiring to give youngsters a chance is a very reasonable move. Who knows what type of player is in the system? You may end up with a gem of a player like Michael Hussey waiting around in the domestic season and then end up drafting him into the team after he's 30.

I would prefer him playing ODIs and quitting tests if needed. Though its up to him. It will be very sad to see him go. Probably the saddest cricket day for me.

He is not retiring. He denied it.And also it makes sense becoz he has the contracts of worth Rs 180 crores for the next 4 years.:p

If this is the reaction when there is a rumour that Tendulkar is thinking about retirement from one form of cricket, I don't want to imagine what it'd be like when he really retires!
