South Africa like New Zealand started off well as Elgar and Markram score 73 runs for the opening partnership and Elgar with Ackerman scored 42 runs. The best partnership came from Bavuma and Rickelton as they added 83 runs for the 4th wicket when South Africa were in a bit of a bother at 135 for loss of 3 wickets. Some little contributions from middle order and like NZ no contribution from lower order, South Africa were unable to get a lead but also did not trail by anything as they too got bowled out for 329. This would mean an outright result would be needed for a team to qualify ahead. Wagner, Sodhi, Southee, Jamieson, Mitchell all took wickets for NZ.
Like the first inning Conway and Latham scored a brilliant 141 runs opening partnership. Daryl Mitchell, Tom Blundell and Kyle followed up with 50's each as New Zealand post a daunting 424 runs target for South Africa with 130 odd overs remaining. Maharaj was the pick of the bowler.
South Africa the better ranked team did not start the chase well as they lost both the openers by 27th run. Ackerman and Bavuma added a solid recovery and scored 62 runs together before Ackerman was cleaned up by Southee and Rickleton the very next delivery.
Eventually a recovery effort by Klassen and Bavuma was not enough as South Africa were bowled out for 217 runs. Captain Southee stepped up big time as he took 4 wickets.
New Zealand are doing what they do the best in big tournaments, WIN and advance to next the semi finals and will play a highly spirited West Indies side.

West Indies did well in the second innings. Australian bowlers could not capitalize on it. That 43 runs partnership between Alick and Chase in just 60 deliveries spoiled all Australian plans seems like... WestBall got to Australia..

-X-India after winning the toss elected to bowl first, a decision that did not go their way. Sri Lankan openers started slowly but put up a century stand leaving India completely frustrated. Rain was a major factor as quite a few overs were lost. India were able to cause a little panic as Sri Lanka lost two back to back wickets after putting in a century stand. Sri Lanka kept losing wickets in the middle and at one stage were 185/5 before Kamindu Mendis and Dhananjaya built a strong solid partnership of 99 runs in 293 balls. Sri Lanka eventually got bowled out for 337. Siraj and Axar were the pick of the Indian bowlers.
The pitch definitely was not the easiest to bat on and Rohit Sharma and Gill started India's batting perfectly. Both put on 91 runs for the opening partnership before Gill departed on a well made 79. A middle order collapse got India from 91/1 to 130/3. Rohit Sharma battled out on the demonic pitch as batters on other rotated. With the help of Rishabh Pant's 57 and Rohit Sharma's 97 India were able to give themselves a slightest lead definitely giving them a sigh of relief.
Once again Sri Lankan opening batsman started off brilliantly as they put on 71 for the opening partnership. Small but little partnership from middle order meant India was never in the game to win it outright. A brilliant century from Angelo Matthews and further rain definitely closed the chapter of having an outright winner unless Indian batting exploded. Sri Lanka were bowled out for a well fought 280 with India needing 260 runs in little over 1 session.
Rohit Sharma and Gill ensured the demons on the pitch would not cause a loss as they both put on 60 runs for the opening partnership. Pujara and Kohli defeded well and match ended in a draw. A match that had potential for an outright victory all throughout but unfortunately both teams did not capitalize. Sri Lanka did play better cricket compared to the match against Zimbabwe but a first inning lead for India meant they would qualify for the semi-finals and play the winner of the England Pakistan match.

-X-Pakistan carrying the momentum from the first game against Ireland put up 78 runs on a poorly prepared pitch. It took England 40 overs to get the first wicket. After the first, England kept picking wickets on regular interval with everyone on English side picking 2 wickets each with the exception of Mark Wood. In the end slowly and steadily Pakistan innings ended on 272 and looks like they have a decent score given the pitch.
England started positively as they put on 48 runs for the first wicket. After Duckett's departutre, Ali departed soon after. 50 from Crawly and little contribution from the middle order helped England take a small but decisive lead of 16 runs. Abrar Ahmed was the pick of the bowler as he took 5 wickets folloed by Salman picking up 3 wickets.
Apart from Shan Masood's and Imam's second wicket partnership of 49 runs, no body contributed much. Salman Ali tried extending the league as he scored a well made 41. In the end Pakistan inning collapsed on 169 runs with England needing 154 in 4 sessions. Wood was the pick of the bowler getting 4 wickets.
Duckett and Crawley put on 89 runs for the first wicket partnership before England had a small hiccup and lost 3 wickets for 15 odd runs. In the end England chased down 154 comfortably and will play India in the Semi-Finals. Nauman Ali was the pick of the bowler picking all 3 wickets.

Phenomenal win. Expected nothing from the lads. Pakistan did well with the bat in the first innings, especially considering the surface, so getting them out cheaply in the second innings was always going to be key. Glad that Wood led the pack to set up a simple fourth innings chase after going wicket-less in the first innings.

The pitch conditions are expected to be excellent for batting. Scoring heavily in the first inning and defending might be a way to go to ensure the road to the finals.
Unlike West Indies and New Zealand, for India and England, this will only be their second game of the tournament. India did not capitalize on chances Sri Lanka provided and had a draw whereas England won a fair and square game against a strong Pakistan unit that saw a second inning collapse.
