basically, Pak. has the best AVERAGE Stats for 4 Batsmen ! But, Sri Lanka takes the cake with Mahela's amazing form & Sangakkara's Bradmanesque Stats since leaving the Wicket-keeper's position in Tests !!!

At the moment India is rocking. Only Australia can match our batting strength. Sri Lanka just butchered some Bangladesh bowlers and do the stats proud. Look them against proper test nations.

Sri Lanka's last 2 series have been against Australia (away) and England (home), so you're at fault there. I think all-round India have the best Middle Order, Dravid, Tendulkar, Ganguly and Laxman are all world class, consistent players. Both Sri Lanka and Pakistan have weaknesses with Chamara Silva and Shoaib Malik being the main weaknesses respectively. India have the best middle-order for me.

Well England were charitable enough for Sri Lankan batsman. Vaas was batting well also I think that time in Sri Lanka. While India was at Australia for 4 out of 5 test matches.

To compare take bigger sample size. In business small sample are never used for forecasting.

Isn`t England considered as one of the best Test sides? It doesn`t matter how the performed against Sri Lanka

We have the ability to hold so much talent but still fail. A rare quality indeed.

I think You should had search same stat for England also..Their middle order also good enough..

How about Australia?

Ponting
Clarke
Symonds
Hussey

They'd be pretty good, I reckon. Except Ponting's average over the last 5 tests wouldn't be too pretty, I imagine. :p

In last 5 test I think Aussie middle order was not good. Openors were the leading scorers.

Dravid was openor in 3 games so we cant consider him. When he came at 3 he was diffrent player.

SRL middle order will collapse as it did agnst aus

Australia are pretty poor at the moment. I would say India's test middle order is pretty solid atm minus Ganguly. Besides that maybe Pakistan, the rest of the world need to do some catching up.

Dravid
Tendulkar
Ganguly
Laxman

Need I say more? I think this batting lineup is equivalent to the West Indian quicks of the 80's.

The first 2 are.

3 years ago, no batting line-up came close to India's. Nowadays, it's more up for contention.

Laxman is sheer class. He's just been so unlucky - not being able to play at his prime number three position.

Ganguly is highly underrated. He had a bad patch in his career, but he's looking awesome now. (UNFAIRLY DROPPED). No one comes close to his cover drives and dance-down-the-track sixes.
