I'll update in more detail when its over.
Apple? will broadcast its September 1 event online using Apple?s industry-leading HTTP Live Streaming, which is based on open standards. Viewing requires either a Mac? running Safari? on Mac OS? X version 10.6 Snow Leopard?, an iPhone? or iPod touch? running iOS 3.0 or higher, or an iPad?. The live broadcast will begin at 10:00 a.m. PDT on September 1, 2010 at Apple.
The AirPlay feature is another unique feature. If I understand it correctly, it allows you to view content stored on the ATV on your other devices and vica versa. While you can already achieve this with apps such as AirVideo, I suppose this will be more seamless.
I don't need something like this since I have an HTPC setup and my TV already has network and Netflix integration.
From what i gathered AirPlay allows you to stream your iTunes content to all your iOS devices. I can sit in India and watch a movie from my desktop here over Wifi. And its free!
