This team frustrates me so much. Has right from the word go, when due to Gilly's presence I pledged my allegiance to them. That first season, there was so much potential with batsman such as Gilchrist, Gibbs, Afridi, Symonds, Sharma and Laxman, and a decent bowling quarter with Vaas and Singh.
They of course got the spoon, and then the next year they win their first four games and barely scrape into the finals. So many games that we should have won, but choked with 5 overs left!
Then, upon reaching the finals we turned into a world class team, belting the top placed Delhi in the semi and scraping past Bangalore in the semi.
Six months later, we turned up at the Champions League, and were knocked out in straight sets. Once again, these were two losses we should have avoided. That Somerset game
Prevent 55 from 36 with 7 wickets down? Too much apparently. Not to mention the 8th wicket pairing added 50 runs and they one by one wicket :/
And then the next game. Seriously, chasing 150? 27 from 24 balls with 5 wickets left became 20 from 18 with, then 13 from 12 and 8 from 6 yet we couldn't do this, despite finishing the game with three wickets in hand.
And then, both of these games are at our home ground, in a country the opposition players haven't stepped foot in :/
And now this season, we promise so much and belt opposition, and then the next game we choke once again and stuff up simple chases or bowl full tosses at the death.
With so much firepower, WTF are they doing! Only Praghyan Ojha can claim to be consistent in this team, the others promise so much and fail to deliver.
