The Ladder is a joke!

The Ladder isn't worth the cyber space its hosted on. Every one i've played against dosent report or cheats, Im gonna name names now and the reasons they gave me for not reporting (bare in mind i just joined the ladder 2 days ago)

1st ladder match i played (thank you), he's an ok dude but he didnt report "he said i had 3 spinners in my team, he said its not aginst the rules" and he will report but never did (i didnt bowl near the umps head with spinners)

Next Ladder Match- dreamer2050 stacked every player on the offside and bowled wide every ball (ladder rules sall no more than 7 fielders on the offside, also says "if that offense is made its an automactic loss")

Next Ladder game - (reported game thxs) Beat him convincenly then after the game said i had phil jaques and darren lehman in my team. So what! there batting stats are lower than the bats man i replaced them with i just like those dudes. Jaques should be in the team :P

Theres been a couple more that havnt reported too like the guy "drana" today i had him 8 for 77 in the 9th in a 10 over ladder game when he made a mystery disapearance from the lobby, every where.

Heck id report if they beat me. I should be at least 4 or 5-0 the whole system and ranks are false the ladder aint worth squat due to the participants either trying to cheat or not reporting.

This is why I sometimes make my own rules (like the wide ball thing) to add to the ladders rules when I host. If they don't abide by them, I don't play w/ em.

I've never played anyone who doesn't report tho...and I always report (im 7-13 or something ) but if they dont report u can just take screenshots and go to unreported match on the site and show the site the screenies

i dont have a problem with people who bowl wide, although there's a difference between bowling outside off stump, which i do during the fielding restrictions, and bowling full tosses/bouncers on the edge of the pitch outside off stump which other people do. what's even better is when these people get sacked, and then they fail to report (but i've never had any troubles using the unreported loss function, as long as you have a screenshot or two to show that they disconnected/used an illegal field or whatever).

incidentally ive played dreamer2050 twice and he failed to report a loss both times, on the second time using an illegal field, bowling full tosses with a variety of indian spin bowlers outside off stump AND he then complained about "bowling tactics" afterwards

if you know who to avoid you can have some great games though. also something i tried in my last game that worked really well was changing the bowling tactics to putting more people on the legside and bowling more at the stumps, as opposed to the normal tactic of stacking the offside (7-2 field) and bowling cutters from outside off stump (either short or full). it really changes up how you have to bowl and it makes things a lot more interesting. i guess in a way it makes the game more realistic as well.

mind you, you might find that you still get belted against some people. if i play 1---uzzi---1 again, im not so sure that i'll try the legside experiment against him. that guy's timing is incredible.

I usually just change up pace. Throw a lot of slow balls and keep line and length.

thats what i do before i play. two things i tell them. no custom field settings and no wide bowling and if they do so then i dont play with them. and the poster of this thread(tekNique) i played with u once and u yourself do wide bowling so no use of blaming others.

BS I bowl at the stumps cause quite frankly im good and dont mind foresaken a few 4's for a wicket.. Ask pedsia Hes the only person whos reported a game we had so far. If u want to know my stock ball ill tell u, around the wicket with a pacer to a right hander pitching on middle about half way down the wicket. From there i mix it up with the ball going across u or coming back in with a vareity of pace U cant call a ball that pitches on the stumps and goes across u wide Jan....learn the game of cricket. And when I was talking about dreamer bowling wide he was pitching as wide as u can go and pitching it on the popping crease............Get ya facts right Jan

bowling a little wide is okay. By the wide ball bug, i mean bowling it very wide to where its right by the wide line used in tests.

One simple solution, Get enough screenshots , install fraps from www.fraps.com or anywhere (copy i mean), and assign spacebar or whichever key . .and u can press spacebar as many times as u want. .without error. and use the unreported match tool, it is useful. I never had problem using it.
