The PlanetCricket Battrick Sledging Thread

It is really easy for TT Lions to win there match than me. And there r old wulfs they can also get that spot as they still have 2 matches

If I am not wrong, then the 23rd week's fixtures will be announced after every team is free from the country cup. Because, the next round is the last round before the cup matches.

I think it is the time that Battrick Ranking+Stats should also be updated
I dont think stats will be updated until embi has finalised his program, doing it manually by going through each game would be very time consuming. Chez has informed me however that a new Ranking system will be up shortly, he just has a few things to tidy up on and then the updated one's will be posted.

Yes that is true, the cup games are due to be on the 14th, but hopefully this time there wont be as long a wait as last time we had to wait for everyone to be out to continue, this time it is only a certain selection of teams.

If there are some games which hold little importance then perhaps we will just declare them draws to save some time, I will discuss it with Chez, but obviously there are some games which need playing, ie Wulfs v Jeanz.

You can't play friendlies at neutral venues! You should know that by now, ste.

i should do, but i dont pay much attention when challenging teams

and on the subject of the home team will have to change pitch type, if the team is as home on the friday before, and its a big game it will be unfair on whoever it is as changing type takes longer than 2 days (most times at least)

If you have to have 1 more gameweek as a result of the Wulfs Jeans match then you might as well play any games that need playing, really. The time would be wasted anyway.

Or you could just give the game to me :p

No point doing them at the same time, it won't save any time because it would just make you a week behind. In any case, some people still involved will have a free week, in Div 2 at least

Erm, not really. The best teams are still in and they will be the ones who are successful and have along cup run. My cup run will at least be 3 weeks if not more, so there are big delays. This league has gone on for too long IMO, nearly two seasons if I'm right. Maybe change the format and have groups of 4 or 5 teams, and then a knockout stage to make it shorter.

The idea was that this tournament gave something to work towards, i.e. Promotion for next season/Avoiding relegation. The format you suggested (As was used for the most recent Battrick League tournament) doesn't have this side of it.

Then it should be only one game against each team, with the ground decided randomly. This is just taking way too long.
