The PlanetCricket Battrick Sledging Thread

hire sports psychologists?

he would make a good lower order batsmen in ODI, maybe not FC as its been said secondaries will be more important in them, so if you used him at 6 he could swing the bat well late on

Nah, you need to have high concentration in order to score quickly. Trust me, it won't work. He'll be handy incase of a coallpse though.

So, if the condition goes to superb, will better players be pulled from it? And I have 100 ITS, so I do want to use some!

Superb just means you can use more ITS points on a player. Some people have got really good pulls from a feeble YA. I thought you would have known by now ;)

is that based on experiences? or something in a Q+A? or something else

Concentration - This is an important skill for batsmen. The importance of this will be larger for First Class games than for one day games, although it is valuable in both forms of the game. A batsman may be very well endowed in batting skill, but if he can't concentrate then he is likely to make a silly mistake and get out earlier than he would have otherwise. It also has an effect on an individuals fielding and wicketkeeping ability; you need to stay alert in the field or risk missing that chance for a catch!

is all it syas in the rules, nothing about scoring rate

Experience. Players with low concentration never scored quick for me, regardless of their nature.

With the slegding boards not being allowing to post my messages I was wondering if I could start a Noob help thread. With being a noob people could post questions and perhaps some experienced members could answer them. What do you think of this?

I think he might have the potential to become a solid all-rounder. But, I'm worried about his concentration though. I have him on a keeping and fielding net right now, in addition to the primary nets. Is there a way I can speed up the increase of his secondaries?

He's not dissimilar to Ludlam, except he's a batting allrounder and Ludlam is bowling.

Mark Ludlam (1076918)
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, strong batting form, proficient bowling form, low
A destructive player with strong leadership skills and worthless experience.

Plays For: Old Wulfs
Nationality: England
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 10,023
Wages: ?1,067 p/w

Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: abysmal
Batting: competent Concentration: abysmal
Bowling: proficient Consistency: competent
Fielding: mediocre

Ludlam also has the same concentration problem, he's getting 2 batting and a fielding net (among others that won't help concentration). It'll never be great, but after he turns 20 with all the training he'll have had, it will hopefully be enough for him to score some serious runs. Anyway, the roles he's most likely to play in my team long term are pinch hitter and down the order for quick runs at the end, neither of which will require that much long batting.

i second the idea for a V-bookie event for the 2 games this sunday

i cant say, all of my current batsmen have competent concentration (except erye) at least, i dont have problems with their scoring speeds, erye is the slowest scoring, but thats because i set him quite defensive to try anchor the innings, and he has a SR just shy of 80 for the season, so quite quick despite orders and only mediocre concentration

Np, I mean theres no strict rule about where to ask them really. You could pretty much use any of the threads (sledging thread, transfer thread etc) and get a decent response.
