In every game of cricket, you always come across a reserve or a fourth umpire.
What work does this guy do ?
I mean there is no particular important thing that he undertakes.
So,why is he in the game ?

Well its incase one of the umpires becommes sick or injured. It hardly ever happens, but if one got hit by a ball or got heat exhaustion or something they would need another umpire. Thats my guess anyway.

4th umpire is also the one who is incharge if players misbehave.

like if they recieve a match fine, it will be from the 4th umpire iirc.

The 4th umpire mainly does the following two things(I think)

a)Tries to coordinate with the umpires with any incidents(such as shifting the sidescreen as per need and helps in making sure that the crowd or pollice officials do not block the view of the batsman while batting)

b)Is involved when a ball change is made(brings all the new balls in a box)

That's the match referee.

Fourth umpire does what sid said above, and also fills in, in the event of any injuries to the main umpires.

Are the match fees/salaries of all the three umpires same or different? Is that of a match refree different from them?

I think that the match fee for the on field umpires and the referee is the maximum and then the third umpire and the fourth umpire come into play.Atleast that should be the case because its the two on-field umpires who have to sweat it out in the middle.
