The Saboteur

I have it on the 360, it's QUITE fun. Sure the driving could be better and stuff, but on the whole it's a nice interesting game and the missions are overall fun. Also it's not as easy as some other open-ended games tend to be, which is good too.

That's good. I just need to find out what the status is regarding ATI cards and the PC version, and then I'll pick it up. I like WW2 games and this one adds a new twist to things.

The French setting and everything is quite authentic, and some of the Nazi scenes can get pretty intense. Given that you have the freedom to screw with the Nazis wherever, whenever and however you want, you can amuse yourself for a long long time

Saboteur will shortly be mine, for the price of ?1.99 - I had ?15 worth of points on my GAME card: result! :D

According to PC Gamer, it's a very long game - I think they quoted 40 hours of gameplay if you do all the little side missions. Is the story itself nice and long? Either way, going around 1940s Paris causing havoc for Nazis isn't going to get old quickly. :)

MasterBlaster76 added 1 Minutes and 43 Seconds later...

I love the sound of it and can't wait for it to arrive! Shame the developer's no more, as there won't be a sequel now.

I'd just like to say that I unreservedly recommend this game. I haven't had any technical issues at all (I have installed the latest ATI drivers) and the game itself is a blast. And - those Nazi sidecar motorbikes are in the game, so I anticipate some 'Great Escape' moments (no spoilers, please!)

You like wasting Nazis? Get this game. Like driving? Get this game. Hell, there's even a decent racing game in there! It's better than GTA in my book, and the voice acting is superb. Also, according to the journal section, the game doesn't just happen in Paris. I know for a fact there are some missions in Germany.

The dialogues are awesome!

a good game overall but the story is pretty ordinary and voice acting sucks except that of Sean.

The AI can be on the dopey side sometimes - are there any ini. fiddling that can be done to help with that and with things like how much damage cars can take before they're destroyed, because at the moment they're invincible...

Edit: I'm not playing on the very highest difficulty level though - does that make a difference? I'm on Hard - maybe I should try the best named difficulty level of all time - Feckin' hard? :D

This looks like good news:

Saboteur 2 possible if sales impress - News - play.tm

Dunno what the sales were like for The Saboteur 1 though. Be nice if there was a sequel though, as this game has missed a couple of tricks. Why are there no Nazis sitting at the cafe tables, just waiting for a Resistance car to do a drive by on them (speaking of which, the omission of being able to have a guy in the back with a machine gun is baffling). And there were always whole squads of German soldiers stamping up and down the streets of Paris, not just one or two.

Haven't finished the game yet though, I started again on 'Feckin' Hard', which is a lot more of a challenge (the cars can still take way too much damage), so no spoilers please!
