Ok. First things first, what is Battrick?

Battrick is a cricket management game, not dissimilar to ICC2005, and includes buying and selling players, youth academys, your very own ground and of course, your bunch of worthless players whom you have to whip up into shape to become world beaters!
You start by selecting your region, in a particular country(One of the ten test playing nations). Your team is a club team which plays against others in League and OD Cup matches, to climb to the top of the table and play in the highest league.
Now, as for the matches, you don't have graphics, but you DO have Live Ball-by-ball commentary :). So it really is a rollercoaster ride. Matches are played according human time, every 6-7 days. You set your tactics, and watch your team win:)(or lose, as I have seen recently:()

Now, who are the TT Lions? Well the TT stands for Trinidad and Tabago, my region(In the West Indies).

Here are a few briefs:
General Manager: ZoraxDoom
Country: West Indies
Region: Trinidad and Tobago
One Day League: #6 in IV.17
Ground: The Lion Stands

Now that you know that, WHO ar the TT Lions? I don't play all the matches Y'know.:p Well here is my Top 14 players, the 14 who I intened to turn into match winners.

Former West Indian great Micheal Holding meets up with TT Lions manager Zorax Doom on his goals for the team:

MH: Good evening Zorax.
ZD: Good evening.
MH: So tell us, how is it like managing this team?
ZD: Good fun actually, they are good, fun people to be around, good work ethic, always ready to try new things in the nets.
MH: A couple of good finds, namely Atkinson and Delop?
ZD: Yes, they are good players. Delop can hang in there and is in 'proficient' form, while Runako is a real destructive player, hopefully he can continue this form. 8 wickets in two matches at an aerage of just under four, great. But take nothing from the others, they are also brilliant players and hard workers, and I'm sure they'll find form soon. Arthur(Dennis) looked good, unlucky to trod on, and Cox already has a fifty. Drayt is picking up the wickets at the end, Leo and Crouch have been very economical and Gamble is also getting breakthroughs.
MH: Speaking of Gamble, well, his name really says it all huh?
NH: Hehe, yea. But we are going to try out letting him bowl with less pressure of taking wickets, let him have a few fielders in the deep, once the runs stop flowing the wickets and good form will come along. He also likes bowling in the Lion Stands, and we have a few matches coming up there. Just hoping for the best.
MH: That large upgrade order will come in handy to hold all your new fans. Now, we have heard rumours about hiring new coaches, is that true?
ZD: Yea maybe after a few weeks, hope to get the best possible out of the team.
MH: Any plans of promoting any youth spinner, seeing you don't really have one?
ZD: No, not really in the near future. Clark(Griffin) and Duane(Christopher) are working on their bowling, might be prepared to bowl within a few months,a nd if that doesn't work out, we might promote someone up, see how he does. But our bowling attack so far is very good, and I doub't the lack of a spinner will make too much of a diffference.
MH Thank you vey much, and good evining.
ZD: Thank you.

Here

Well it turns out we played a match, which I didn't know about. Apparently, we lost :(. Actually, we were creamed. We were pounded into sumbission, our dust swept under the carpet, the carpet rolled up, tossed into an old car, and the car smashed into a cube, the cube launched into space, and...well...you get my drift :)

The scorecard:

scorecard1qy.jpg

As you can see, Crouch bowled the best while Dennis and Delop did fight back a bit.

But we were no match from the start anyways:

But the attendance was good:) Some cash in the pocket:).

This crushing lost have spurred a few changes:

TT Lions initiate changes after crushing loss
A PC.net article.
Following their big loss to one of the top Aussie cubs -Asterix XI- the TT Lions carried out some drastic changes, which included promoting a youth player -who was dropped shortly afterwords- and increasing funding into their Youth Academy. We conducted a short interview with their manager-Zorax Doom-about the changes.
PC:A few changes, care to explain why?
ZD: Certainly. After that match, alot of our weakness' were exposed. We failed to contain the batsmen once they got settled, and our batsmen seemed vurnable to loose shots early in their innings. Delop and Dennis showed some grit, Delop doesn't have much talent, but is an extremely hard worker, and I fet he was unlucky to be dissmissed. Dennis can lead fro the front, but couldn't get his fifty due to running out of partners, but he will get it, he has a great attitude.
But our bowling was our main flaw, this lead to us promoting up a young left arm medium pacer. We also invested into our academy in hopes of finding a few new talented youngsters.
PC: But why did you drop Kenwynne Stansfield after only a day and send him back?
ZD: Well he stunned us really, out of 11 overs in the nets, only one in total was on target. And after finding out he was topping our bowling averages, we realised that our standard of the academy wasn't very good, hence the increased investment.
PC: Thanks for your time.
ZD: No problem

TT Lions hire new coaches
The TT Lions have hired five new specialist coaches-three batting and two bowling-for an undisclosed sum after their crushing loss a few days ago to the Asterix XI. When questiond on why Zorax Doom replied by claiming that the team had 'hit a bit of bad form' and needed some help getting back to the top.

Sorry for the late update, was out:

We can tell you that Arima CC won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking slow and low. Tough for everyone. Could be a low scoring match..

End of Over 44: 226-8, runrate=5.14
Leonard 10-0-47-0
Leary* 49 (38 balls)
Findlay 3 (4 balls)

We are in a bad position here.

44.1 nb6 Drayton to Leary
no ball, picked up well over cows corner
And that's his fifty! Well played.

Damn. This won't end well :(
