That was a great way to start this tournament. In the first inning, our middle and lower order along with Tamim batted brilliantly. Philander and Ashwin then created havoc and bundled them for 220 odd which was a huge advantage for us. In the second innings, Tamim scored yet another 50 and others helped us to get a good lead. Philander was the main guy. Happy that he picked up 5 wickets. Overall, a positive start for us.

The match looked headed for a draw before the start of the innings with just over 80 overs remaining for the Invictus to chase the target of 285. But David Warner and Kumar Sangakkara had a partnership of 141 runs from just 147 balls, scoring at a strike rate of above 95, which brought the match in their control. However, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals, with Steyn picking up 4 wickets, and they were reduced to 265-9. But the last pair of Sharma and Siddle batted brilliantly to score the required 21 runs and secured a thrilling victory for the Invictus.
