Article: India in West Indies, 2011: Badrinath's last chance at redemption | Cricket Features | West Indies v India | ESPN Cricinfo

It's so ridiculous. Yeah, Badrinath hasn't performed internationally. But seriously? Yusuf Pathan's inclusion in the article is just ridiculous. Yeah, he hasn't performed but this isn't his last chance by far. And I'd be pretty upset if it's Badrinath's last chance. It SHOULD be Rohit Sharma's last chance. I have no idea what the selectors see in him, but he has failed again and again. He is the one that needs to be pushed out of the Indian team.

Have you even followed this series? Rohit Sharma has been in supreme form and bailed India out in the 3rd ODI single handedly. Although I agree Badrinath should be given more time but Yusuf can be done away with it, his bowling is crap and his batting comes off once in 10-15 matches, which really wastes the no.7 spot. I think with Yuvraj and Raina bowling decently, we have got our 5th bowler, we can play a proper batsman at no.7.

Rohit Sharma has been exceptional in the series.

What series are you watching? Rohit is the leading run scorer in the series.

Rohit Sharma: 4 innings, 200 runs @ 200.00, HS: 86*, SR: 88.10
Badrinath: 3 innings, 40 runs @ 13.33, HS: 17, SR: 47.05
Yusuf Pathan: 3 innings, 12 runs @ 4.00, HS: 10, SR: 70.58

Yep, Rohit's scoring pretty well, I can see him being dropped soon. Look, Badrinath and Pathan are rubbish this series, they'll seal their spot. Tomorrow, world hunger will end and everyone will live in peace and harmony :rolleyes

I've said it before, domestic form is no indication of how a player will perform when he plays at international level. Badrinath is a great domestic batsman, no denying that. Whether he can cut internationally, I'm not so sure.

Are you serious! He has been exceptional in this series.

I guess he was watching some old highlights :p

Not to mention that he's only the 3rd Indian batsman to score more than 200 runs in a bilateral series at the Caribbean.

I am not big on Indian cricket but have to say Rohit is very good player and taken them out of a lot of trouble. Bad should be given another few chances he is stressed I reckon and nervous (don't know why he has playen well in the IPL) Pathan dropped and Jadeja should come in

If you disregard the current series stats then the argument of the original post makes sense. Seems very harsh on Badrinath and Yusuf to say they are up to their last chances when they are obviously talented guys and there are some older Indian players who won't be around soon to take their spots. And a couple of weeks ago most people would have agree that Rohit has been a big disappointment internationally. Even now you could still argue that, since the current West Indies are hardly the West Indies of the 80s.
