In an interesting twist just before the Ashes, Graham Thorpe has been said to reportedly be joining the New South Wales squad for the second half of Australia's domestic summer in 05-06. Sounds interesting...

What I have gathered is Thorpe is joining as a coach and would play only for club teams and not for theNSW team .So no point discussing this .

In all honesty, I don't think there is much room for him in the team anyway, they did win the Pura Cup after all.

Thorpe has signed as Coach and will play if your middle order struggles.

Thorpe is a great signing he has played 99 Tests and averages in the mid 40's

NSW top batting averages last season
Phil Jaques 66.78
Dominic Thornley 62.64
Brad Haddin 57.25
Simon Katich 44.94

Thorpe's experience is what will be valued, in trying to improve a talented but very young squad. His batting skill is barely needed and at 35, the experience is hardly beneficial to his career as a player.
