All right guys, I have had some more hits and here are some tips when you first get a hand on the game to enjoy a good nice game.
1. Dont try custom fields and if you do make sure you dont have shortish mid off and mid on. I was enjoying playing ODI against NZ but mid way through I had to give up due to 3 runouts. The scorecard reading pathetic 19/5 after 8 overs.
2. Dont select your own team, play with the default selection. The default teams are still good enough and reflect current players. The stats get a bit messed if you select your own team.
3. If you are consistently bowling out opposition for paltry scores, try autoplay. This is the best to happen to the game, it simulates good totals and will be fun to chase.
4. Dont get too frustrated when batting if you are unable to middle any through the off side in the first few overs. Play across the line till you get a bit of a confidence going, once done you can bat like the Laras, Tendulkars or Cairns. Play straight and dig out all yorkers bowled at you. After the current game I have to say the average number of yorkers were a bit reduced. Play both off front and back foot towards fine leg to keep the score card moving.
5. Dont get struck in the crease when you start batting first. Move around in the crease to adjust to the line of the ball and score singles. The theory seems to be maxposadjust in the game is very low to start with and increases with your stay at crease. This is a very well thought out plan, this really makes your batting enjoyable. Once your confidence is quite high you will not need to make that adjustment moving around the crease, the batting just gets better and will surpass all your expectations.
Come on guys add to this list your thoughts to avoid bugs, let the ones who will be getting the game shortly have a good game.
