Even if you aren't directly copying something, in this case 'EA', the likeness and the potential for confusion in the market is significant when two companies are in the same industry.

Companies sue over using the same colours as them on packaging - let alone an initialism that sounds almost exactly the same.

Big Ant Cricket spelt out wouldn't be an issue (neither would Myrmecophilidae), but BA Cricket as suggested would be.

The simplicity of just calling it "Cricket" would prolly do the trick, although that's not a trademarkable term, so I don't know if it makes business sense... but marketing-wise (and market penetration and perception-wise) it's about as effective a name as you can get.
