To Russia via...

Great update Jaz, can't wait for the actual football!

The trip on the ferry across to Tullin, Estonia was long and uneventful. I say unenventful but then again, being sick continuously can be counted as an event. I couldn't get the taste of the oat beer out of my mouth and it just made the whole journey very uncomfortable. Landkort didn't like it either and was sick alot too but he carried on drinking it. Kudos to the man. Kudos to the crazy man.

Away from the bad points and back to some good points. We made it to Tallinn, Estonia. Landkort thanked the man who manned the boat in the Estonian language. Now there's a surprise... In his defence he did say it is closely related to the Finnish language as alot of the Estonian people are related to the Finnish people in some way.

It's not that I don't like Estonia or Tallinn but I just wanted to get home as soon as possible. We set off, hoping to get across to the other side of the city in a few hours. We ended up doing it in just over an hour though as the entire streets were just completely empty. It was very strange.

"What's the date today?"
"19th January 2008."
"I don't know anything that happens on that day. Especially football wise."

Well I do, I was just not letting on. I genuinely didn't know about the football but I knew something about the date. My mothers birthday. I've got alot of birthdays to make up for once I get back in Russia and see them, as I will see them. I know they're there. They've got to be there.

Walking through the last street in town, we noticed what seemed to be an Estonian's version of Currys. The news was on a big 35" telly. We walked over to see what was happening. We weren't really expecting what soon came though...

"Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip earlier ordered a complete evacuation of Estonia. The war between China and Russia has started getting worse and will soon be out of hand. With Estonia being so close to the border of Russia, Andrus Ansip said that it was too much of a risk. He recommends that all civilians go to Finland or stay with relatives. Basically, he told them to get out."

Wait. Does that mean that we are in danger? That means that Russia is a war zone? The quicker we see my parents the better. We carried on walking, at a quicker pace now. Landkort didn't look phased but he didn't look as confident and as calm as he usually does. We came to the end of the street when we came to a stable.

"They'll be no-one there though."
"That doesn't matter, I bought it."

Landkort; always expecting the unexpected. We roamed in freely and found two horses who we thought could last the distance of Estonia. It isn't the biggest country but it certainly isn't the smallest. Before we left we went inside and notice that the previous owner had left something that we love behind.

"Heineken!"

We didn't know what tomorrow would bring, but at that moment, we didn't really care.

Hey Jaz, I'm back! And I have had a skim through this story. I looked at the title and the tag saying 'FM08'. Where's the football? Its great anyway though :p

Thanks Vaiby. :p

Aye, I got your Vistor's message. :D Get on msn soon mate.

And people. The football will be here shortly...

Well mate looking at the date its pretty obvious you are either going to take charge midseason or not before the new season starts in July 2008. And unlike the rest here, let me allow you to carry on with the drinking, because you aint great until you are high.

After a great night, heck even the horses enjoyed it, it was time to ride the following morning. We set out to get to the other side of Estonia, Narva, which was right on the border. After we reach there we would have to go to Saint Petursberg. Once there, we will have a private jet sent over to collect us and then we will be in Moscow. So close to our goal of reaching Russia, nothing can stop us.

We saw many lovely deer and animals through Estonia and we even saw a Leopard, but that may have something to do with the drink. I wondered about how good I must of been at football to have this opportunity. Apparently I had already done my level one coaching badge when before the accident which means I can coach very young kids and even some adult Sunday league teams. Landkort said that when we get to Russia I will have to do all my coaching badges before I'm allowed to manage Moscow. That's quite obvious though.

We arrived at the other end of Estonia at the tail end of January, the 28th. Narva is the third biggest city in Estonia and it is definitely one of the most wildly decorated in Estonia. We hurried through the town as we hoped to get to Saint Petersburg before the middle of February, as with it being winter, it's getting very cold. There wasn't much difference between Narva and Tallin and one of the big things that was easy to notice, was that there was barely anyone outside of their houses.

We found ourselves at a massive wall with a gate. The wall looked like it ran for miles, way out of site. Had Russia built a version of the Great Wall of China in the 15 years I had been in a coma. 15 years? It'd take much longer than that, surely. We saw there was a man outside the gate with some drunks doing the can-can. The guard seemed to be getting irritated with the drunken people and threatened to throw them in jail if they didn't quit messing around.

They didn't stop and soon found themselves on the floor in pain. They say that watching violence is bad, but that was awesome. Ex pro wrestler, most probably. I was nervous as hell to walk up to him as he still didn't look like a happy bunny, a bunny nonetheless, but not a happy one.

"Erm hi. Can we like.. you know? Go through?"
"No."
"What?! I need to go through to see my family. I'm supposed to go to Moscow as well to manage them."
"No."
"Why?"
"No-one is to allowed in or out of the country at the current time considering recent events."

Oh my god! We weren't allowed in Russia! Didn't Moscow send word out for us to be exempt and allowed into the country? My family is still in there and I have to get it, I can't not go in.

"Expletive used."

That wasn't the best way to go about it I found as my Baby Machine didn't seem to feel there anymore. Better be just numb or I'll have him! If we're not allowed in Russia where can we go? We've just travelled all the way from England to come to Russia to have a better life than what I would of had and I'm now being denied it? Things aren't looking good...
