hi.....this is the latest version of my a.i/gameplay patches,

Install it into the 'data' directory of your cricket 2004 installation.

e.g- x:\.........\cricket 2004\data\

*plz use an original .GOB file to install this patch on, otherwise it will not work.

Features :

1. Some new and old batting values have been tweaked so as to make batting more realistic both by human and cpu. now you need to skills to time and place the balls into the gaps.

2. Some new bowling values which were discovered after the release of version 2.0 have been tweaked to enable more spin, swing and most important seam movement on their respective pitches.

3. Now u'll enjoy ur bowling. Seam at the top, green wicket, full pace, just short of a length, and WOHAA, see the ball move after hitting the deck. Obously not all balls will move, and also their movement is affected by day/night factor and also weather conditions.

3. Bounce of all the wickets have been tweaked. While on hard pitch the ball will race over ur head on the other hand on wet and damp pitches there will be uneven bounce at times.

4. Also the outfield speed have been tweaked. Speed of outfield have been reduced for damp/wet pitches. but not much coz then it will result in a lot of that stupid run-out bug.

5. Now test matches will surely be a test of ur skills at hard level.

6. Some minor tweaks have been made to all the aspects which are hard to explain but will be seen while you play.

7. Now even the swing bowlers can seam the ball on green wickets with their straight ball.

8. An uninstaller also has been included as to same the time spent for copyin the 800+mb file again n again.

*HARD level is only for PRO players.

**It is advised to put the mid-on fielder either wide or a bit deep to prevent the run-out bug specially on wet/damp/green wickets.

I hope that u all will like and enjoy playing with this patch and will atleast post a reply regarding whether you liked it or not.

For any other details plz feel free to post.

im downloading your patch and im going to try it, still quite new to this game and am just getting to grips with hard mode! Im halfway through a game can i change the difficulty or not?

Tutsi how did you get your file so small?

when i try to make a patch with patchmaker it always is about 300mb!

Looks like I might try this patch aswell.

If it lives up to what your saying should be all good.

yes you can save and quit the current match and change the difficulty setting. Then load your match and the game will reflect the change.

thnx guys for supporting my patch. well this is only one side of the coin (downloading the patch) but other side is still to be seen (reviews)....;)

Tutsi, i have made a ptch and may release it tomorrow. (it is very hard to play wiht, only for really good gamers)

then when i do it tomorrow i will see if i still get the file size being 300mb, if i do i will post here and show you what steps i used

Good stuff boys:cool: , look forward to it. I really want to try out these patches but atm its quite not possible given all the changes I've made to my GOB file :( .

I think it best serves for people who really play very well when someone like Ragada(Tim) is up to producing an AI patch. It will be all go for blasters as he will most probably ensure all those big shots will be tough to play. Go Tim and Tutsi:cool:

thanks for the support Ravi! :)
I will most likely relese my patch tomorrow,it also uses Sam's exe like your patches.
yes it does make the huge shots extremly difficult to play, but i think i made have made it a bit too hard!!!:p , but i will find that out once i release it tomorrow.

The latest match i played with it:
i was Sri Lanka vs New Zealand on a Normal Pitch.
After 23 overs i was 4/102.
I lost 2 wickets in the first 5 overs, both caught behind.
I started to stage a comback and was 2/70, but lost another 2 wickets. One was bowled and one was miss timed shot to cover.

I have only done a bit of tetsing but it is hard to lift the run rate above 5.

Well i'll see what you think when its released! :)

Hi tutsi,

have installed your patch today and have played / simmed a few games. All 5-day so far as that is usually what I play.

First, Eng vs Chairman's XI (I know, but start low and work up). Green pitch, sunny, mild. Lots of good seam. Edges a plenty - some bounce before slips, some to the slips & some over the slips - excellent. Had them at 35 for 4 after about 10 overs. Then quit by mistake!

Next up - Eng vs SA. Green pitch, sunny, mild. Batted first and struggled to get up to 25 for 2 after 11 overs. Good hard cricket - a justified challenge and not over the top. Autoplay innings - Eng 260 all out which sounds about right.
Bowling was fun again. Good seam etc, but their batting was better - more careful. Did bowl Gibbs for 6 though. He got bogged down and frustrated, played and missed and then drove at a straight one and missed. That's excellent - very realistic.
Autoplayed rest of match - SA won in 3 1/2 days. Scores around the 250 mark. Again - about right for the conditions.

Finally, Eng vs SA again. Normal pitch, sunny, mild. Bowled for a bit. Less movement off the pitch, etc so more containing fields set. Seemed good. Stopped at 36 for 0 after 10 overs. Again - pretty good challenge and good scoring rate. Autoplay. SA all out 385.
Batting was easier than on green which is to be expected. Still can't time the 6-hit stuff very well. Need more practice.
Autoplay rest of match. SA won in evening session on day 5. Scores around 300 - 400. Again - about right.

Conclusion so far: Excellent - really enjoying my test cricket at the moment. Will try the 1 day stuff in the next couple of days and will post feedback soon.

Am interested to see what other folk think of this patch.

John.

thnx FishBowlMan for that great and detailed review.

i'm very happy with the patch coz it did exactly what it was suppose to do. a lot of thinking and testing went into it. i'm sure others will also like as you have. after reading ur review others might also show confidence in my patch will surely give it a go. i'm waiting for ur 1 day matches review.

i would really like others to submit their review in detail like FishBowlMan.

thnx a lot guys.

I have used the patch playing on hard mode in my English county season. Playing as Kent I was able to bowl Notts out for 110 - they were 30-5 at one stage! The pitch was damp, the weather overcast & hot.

Lots of swing which confused the CPU batsmen & plenty of LBW's early on.

Bringing on a spinner & bowling topsinners, by pitching slightly short but straight at minimum speed, there was practically no bounce at all & the ball would carry through very low & trap the batsman LBW. Alternatively pitching outside the off stump but bowling a shortish length & with minimum speed the ball would cut back sharply & trap the batsman lbw or bowled as they would be leaving the ball.

In other words teh CPU batsman under these conditions was easily fooled.

Bating is quite tricky & as the previous reviewer stated requires skill & patience.

Overall - so far it's an excellent patch but i'd look again at the effect of low bounce & the way the CPU batsman copes with it.

Thanks for al your hard work!

thnx for the that detailed review graemejw.

yea its true that u'll get uneven bounce on damp and wet pitches which is quite realisitic. as you can get no bounce or decent bounce by pitching on different parts of the pitch. it also depends upon which type of ball ur bowling. you may get variable bounce for an off-cutter or a flipper or a top spinner.
