any idea when it will be ready? Im happy to test a beta version

well since it will tweak some value here and there and no drastic changes are made so no beta version will be released.

the final version of the update will be released within 1-2 days. u'll need the original gob file for that.

by the way.....the outfield speed problem reported has been fixed. since i'm having my final exams now, i'm in a lot of hurry on the net so plz do me a favour. plz tell me as to what all are the things that need to be fixed in the update so that nothing is left and everything is fixed in the update.

1. outfield speed - the ball travels very fast = FIXED.

2.????
3.????

what else?

Hi Tutsi,

After playing with your patch shall I suggest few improvements for you final version. Please note that these comments if you implement will make Cricket 2004 as realistic as the real Cricket.

1. There should be edges happing in the first 10 overs in a 20 & 50 overs ODI match & test match for both CPU and human players.

2. There should be considerable amount of swing & seam for first few overs in both ODI & Test matche (as the ball is new) after which there should be spin.

3. Swing , seam , spin should be according to the surface we play.

4. Outfield should be according to surface.

5. Shot power should be depending on the point where the ball contacts with the bat.

6 there should be fine edges to slips & wicket keeper for both ODI & test.

7. lower order batsman should not gain confidence easily.

8. CPU should pace the innings wisely.

9. Less wides & legbyes from CPU .

That all I could think of, even if you implemet some from the above mentioned point the patch will be great.

ok well this game is going to take longer than expected. In one day mode on medium or hard it is vital you use your own customer field setup to 1. take wickets and 2.keep the runs to a minimum, this however is causing a few cpu run outs, so where possible i am reloading the game! I have to say Tutsi i havent really encounterd many other problems apart from the outfield one. I will update this as i finish my game.

are you waiting for the new patch before you carry on your story fishbowlman?>

No. My only real problem for the West Indies is the fast outfield. I will tweak values a bit later and probably play 1st innings tonight.

Help!!! I'm an addict!!!

well i have re-installed Tutsi's patch as it makes bowling fun again! I have designed my own default field for the 50 over quandrangular tornemant! Im taking wickets and so far not conceeding to many runs :D The run out bug has killed my interest for a bit so am taking a short break.

well tutsi the run out bug prevented me from completing my one day game but as far as i can see not much that needs changing! If possible to change the following would be nice! Alot less fielding mistakes, my fielders gave away 7 4's in the 30 overs that i played all by missing a ball going straight to them. small bowling cursor for one day games. Cpu to bowl less yorkers in one day mode, and pitch more deliveries up.

Those are my views ill understand if some cant be changed, FishBowlMan may have some more stuff to add

Nothing that springs to mind. I think most remaining issues are gameplay ones not AI related. Looking forward to 3.1, and good luck with your exams - takes me back a few years :)

well almost all the things are there in my patch.....

1. it is there in the patch.

2. it is there in the patch. but the reduce of seam and swing after a few overs is not possible for us to edit.

3. it is there in the patch.

4. it is there in the patch.

5. it is there in the patch. it depends on what difficulty level you play on.

6. it is there in the patch. it depends on the what pitch you play on.

7. not 100% sure about that, dunno if we can edit that.

8. it is there in the patch.

9. it is there in the patch.

so almost everything is there in the patch.
