Two Games On Sat/Sun Vids Coming Soon 5 wickets 74 runs and 21 overs (MY NZ FIGURES)

Show us a vid which shows us clearly how much spin you are getting.

Reason you struggled to bowl consistantly is your trying so many diff things and worrying about your technique instead of concentrating on where u wanna land it etc.

Once you have your action sorted and it stops changing then with practice u will get the consistancy alot better.

You know i find it funny how everyone give advise and expect that the guy would do that and become perfect at it by just typing in here and in 1 day only.
If cricket was so easliy taught on net then instead of Hogg some new kid doing all things which Warnie took years of practice to learn would have been bowling in current series.

yeah totally agree. There would also be way more balls of the century and spin kings. Spin bowlers would dominate.

i know i cant learn on the net but in the 'nets'
i train hard and am commited and know a bit myself

thanks guys keep advice coming

It's advise you learn off, advise you build something off. Advice of which he can do something about his needs. There may have been a possibility he has been using the wrong technique and the fixing up of something so small can result to the wild improvement in himself.

I've talked to him and he is quite passionate of his Cricket and he does practice hard. Only thing that makes all of this easier is his video clips.

When I bowl offies (I do when my team goes in with 4 pacers including me. I bowl a spell of fast bowling with the new ball and then slow it down with offspin-kinda like Symmo) I dont go for big turn.
I love variations with flight. Above the batsmans head, bolted down at the pads, drifting away, dipping in. I toss in the odd in or out swinger seam up. You should learn to do that, you do not know how helpful it is.
I also slip in the odd leggie, and then the googly once your confident with it.

Strategies I use:
Six Ball over:
Offie
Offie
Seam up
Leggie
Leggie
Googly

I like to over pitch my legspinners and dont mind if I get driven for four a couple times. I slip in the Googly and they pre-intimidate the shot, BAM! Get in!

i you where from asia or sub continent just bend ya elbow flex ya wrist get over spin .if you are not from there give it away play bowls or practise batting

If you can bowl a Googly why bowl off spins for the first two ball? or a seam up? Why not just bowl wrist spin?

Way to much variation for one over imo

Stick to finger spinning Freddi, wrist spin requires a different technique and bowling mechanics through the whole delivery stride, not good advice unless you just want to be a plodder in the park who thinks they can do a bit of everything.
I mean no offence to you cricketman.

I bowl everything, tbh :p
My offie over is usually 5 off spinners and an arm ball, all pitching around the same area.

The over given was more of a "wicket taking" over, or just something to slip in to keep em guessing.
Its quite handy.

But I love bowling my fast-mediums :). I can touch 120kmph :D

I just watched these vids.
Slow it down. Your running in a bit too hard and you are really pelting it through, you shouldnt have to "oomph".

Keep it simple, and take it slow.

I bowl leg spin so am not up on all the techiques of off spin bowling but can see that you are getting up on your front foot enough. To really get them to bite you need to get tall on that leg and really work on pivoting.

Having watched a few of the videos this was something I was going to mention. Get tall, as tall as you can at the point of delivery and really try and get as much rotation as possible. One thing I have noticed in your last bunch of clips is the lack of any real follow through, little rotation of your body and not a massive amount of pivoting on your front foot. You release it and pretty much stop dead, although this will improve if you really push yourself over your front leg. I can't stress how important it is to really pivot on that front foot and follow through. Another thing I noticed is there seems to be very little energy in your action, it all looks a tad "lazy", if that's the right word. Get some energy and some bounce into it and that will help all of the above.
Last thing (backing up what Sman said earlier in the thread), don't try too many things, just get to a point where you can bowl your stock ball as well as you can.

A little note. When you've bowled and have reached the end of your follow through, just check the position you've finished in. This is something I always do to ensure I'm finishing my action and following through far enough.

Since I really started trying to pivot more and follow through, the amount of turn and bounce I get has increased substantially, but the biggest thing I've gained is late dip, which causes problems all by itself. ;)

I don't know if anyone actually expects him to be "perfect" in just a few days, it takes time and a lot of effort and quite frankly, anyone who thinks otherwise is a bit of a plonker ;). No such thing as a "perfect" bowler.

thanks a heap stevie bowled today earlier for 30 overs in teh nets
and focused on really pivoting,
this helped and i am just doing it more and more
